well, we welcomed Hazamayakiba here after everything and tried and tried to make things right with him but in the end he dug him own grave here. I don't see us giving this guy any less of a welcome and chance it's up to him what he does.

If he joins he will have to do a great deal to earn my respect as have most of the long term members. I don't just dole out respect and chances because life has taught me differently. He is welcome aboard but if the attitude he displayed in his dealing with Tom is any indication he may not be here very long.

I hope this guy joins too. As long as he's willing to accept criticism he should be fine. I do have one query though. What is the point in whacking a blade against an oil drum? I can't actually see a sword related scenario where this would come about

it's no worse than Paul Southren did with the Cheness 30" nagasa, not nearly as bad in fact.

Well, either way, there is always more to a story than meets the eye. I wouldn't mind getting both sides of it. I've never been a fan of talking bad about somebody without them having at least some chance to defend themselves or their actions.

Well personally I feel his comments on you tube, his video & ebay auction have spoken volumes as well as the way he had responded to persons trying to offer a helping hand. All are free to join, all are treated with respect until they become a problem.
I think he should stick to selling "the best" wacky tobaccy"& stop smoking it or change whatever pesticides hes using.
Pity Slav he hasn't shown you the same kind of respect you extend towards him.
Yes I'm too old & grumpy to be bothered calling a spade anything other than a spade in a world gone PC mad.

While I agree with Tom and Slav regarding this guy's acceptance here I've just seen his comments on his youtube channel regarding Slav and SBG. Frankly I don't think he wants to learn or get better. From the sounds of it he also buys a bar of 5160 steel and grinds bevels onto it... after cutting it to shape. Even I could do that... but it doesn't make it a sword nor would that make me a swordsmith.
I'm with Spud on this one.

I have edited many of my posts here at the request of the ebay seller in an attempt to show him that I, and the members of this community are reasonable people. I hope that anyone who said anything derrogitory will do the same as a good-faith gesture. the guy has undoubtedly been given a hard time by many members of ebay, I think it time we show our integrity by taking the high road.
+1 for anyone who follows suite and removes potentially offensive remarks.

What I ma saying is that maybe if he were able to address our commentary here in direct response, he wouldn't feel cornered into having to vent elsewhere...

Does that include my sarcastic remark cause I dont think that was entirely insulting in reality I think its a pretty decent sword for a begininer to make but i would not buy it

Well, either way, there is always more to a story than meets the eye. I wouldn't mind getting both sides of it. I've never been a fan of talking bad about somebody without them having at least some chance to defend themselves or their actions. I have no problem speaking about someone when they are not there or when they can not respond... (although this fellow could respond if he wished by making an account, and even without an account he can read everything said here.) my basic rule of thumb is this: NEVER say anything about someone you would not say to their face. And... I DO mean to their FACE... not just some forum on the iNtErWeBz... I mean in person, face to face. I think the whole Internet would be better off if people did that. I know for a FACT a lot of people like to flex their Internet muscles and say things to people they would never in a million years have the guts to say if they were face to face with the people. So... as long as I would be willing to say it face to face, I'm willing to type it. well, we welcomed Hazamayakiba here after everything and tried and tried to make things right with him but in the end he dug him own grave here. I don't see us giving this guy any less of a welcome and chance it's up to him what he does. Ugh... thanks for making me think of him again... Edit: Just checked out his YouTube... I am not impressed either by his blade or his attitude.

I wasn't trying to get karma but I edited my remark to reflect the knowledge that he's reading these posts and possibly considering joining here. I still feel the same way, that perhaps the man has issues (like everyone else on earth) and people are piling on without considering that, but at the same time that's simply too much money to ask for that sword.

Yep, I'm not a key board commando, I will talk to any body who wants to talk about real things, some times I have forgotten stuff, cant remember it all, and my computer fu sucks, but I will not pass off a bearly sharpened piece of steel as a knife or sword, I am a artist, and depending on what tools I have access to, I can make some really nice things, if I don't have the tools, it just takes longer, but still the same result, my Viking stuff is left deliberately rustic, but I could make it all look perfect, so just like any where else in the world, the guy has to be a man and take some criticism, Here he will find some understanding guys, to a point, think if he did try and join up on the other sites, At least he has a chance on here.....
So, now we see if he will come here and learn....or not, its up to him, not us, comments and all.....SanMarc.

Yeah, I removed my first post making fun of the workmanship yesterday after I watched his video, hell, the first blades I made were no better looking, I think it was the price tag that got me going.
So if you're reading this dude, sorry bout that, hope you join, we have a great sword making and customization forum here that you can learn from and make some good looking functional swords that are desirable to those in this community.

Well... shouldn't we call a spade a spade?
I mean, yes, he has some capacity to shape metal. He's a better swordsmith than I currently am, I have to give him that. (I'm about as good as shootermike was when he was 8 years old, if you mus know).
... but I would never, ever try to pass something like that as a great sword worth thousands of dollars. That's just not right.
Now, that being said, we're all humans and make mistake, and we can learn from them. If he's willing to come here to learn, I'm willing to welcome him.

karma distributed to slackitude and ChrisB george and Jak are next in line when I recharge. I didn't do it for the karma, I did it because you reminded us all that this forum is a positive place. I originally intended my post to mean "Let's not all jump on this guy until we know what his deal is" but knowing he was reading these posts made me realize it could be misunderstood and that I should have worded myself better. How about +1 to you, for getting me to see my post through someone else's eyes and think outside my own little corner of the world.
