Phillip is that your black leather kit WOW! Who made it I really dig the helmet,is it hard to breath in. Heres a bad picture of me when I first got my kit a few years ago, before the helmet and when I had a bunch of extra pounds on.Not wearing my mail or cape either but it was the start of putting it together. Heres one with the helmet finnished with the leather pieces I put on. And the boots I bought from Son of Sandlar very comfy Now that the weather is getting better i have to put on the whole thing,it's been a while.

Those leather kits remind me of the Molly Hatchet album covers. Now for a more historical helm. This one is a 14th century that my Knight and I have been working on for 6 months. It is 16 gauge stainless steel and SCA legal. I plan on wearing it for the first time in Gulf Wars this coming week. Attachments:

Wow. Much respect. Quite an impressive show. i liked Leo's especially. Not Flashy, but accurate. This is mine. Too bad you can't see my boots. They're replicas of anglo-saxon ankle boots. Or my torc, or the rings or earcuffs.. and Just thought i'd stick the harp one in there

The tulwar in my hand (which I named "Hassan" - as in "HASSAN CHOP!!!"), the katar, and the bazuband (on my shield arm) were purchased from forum member Trajan (thanks again!) - all 19th century antiques. The mail haubergeon was purchased from Grendel's Cave. The baldric and ring belt (no, they're not properly Indo-Persian, but I can't seem to find the absolutely correct items), silver koftgari kulah-khud helmet, and the "arsenal" tulwar hanging from the baldric (kinda hard to see in the pic) were Ebay finds. The dhal (buckler) was purchased from www.ancientarms.biz.

@trueswordsman Very nice bascinet. I would very much like to see pictures of that with the full kit when you're finished. buliwyfMan...That helm is beautiful. Someday I'm going to buy a great helm with a horned crest. There's just something about horned helms... Posting with an update and a new picture. Nothing new in the picture...just general camwhoring The second one is a sketch the woman made for me, just for laughs. In the near future I'll be adding a globose breastplate, maille skirt, hourglass gauntlets, and a pollaxe. Not to mention the Malatesta, which should be on its way any day now. P.S. There are a few other pictures a few pages back.

Thank you kindly. I'm about to wear it to a fair in Norman Oklahoma, despite the fact that it's lacking a few integral pieces.
Looking forward to getting a peek at yours.

WOW! I went back through this thread, some very nice kits! I thought I would post another picture of myself, going head to head with a mongol! His outfit was no nice. Also I am over 6 ft tall and if you notice he is squating a bit and still taller then me :>).. I thought I would show you his kit, as I thought it was very well done, and you may enjoy seeing it. -gaffer

My new kit in action. I am wearing the black gambeson. Indeed. It doesn't look too burdensome, but still giving adaquete protection. The scene is nice, too. Everyone else aside from you & your target are engaged & you're setting up for a power stroke(or atleast it seems that way). D

Thanks, it took me some time getting used to the weight of the helm with the Chainmail, but buy the time of this 30 minute battle, which was 10 on 10 all wearing 14th century kits it was like a second skin. Attachments:
