The kit I’m working on so far. The sword isn't quite right but I figure as a relatively poor soldier I wouldn't be able to afford a new sword so it would be bit of an antique. Very nice! Jut smear some dirt on your face & don a surcoat/tabbard & you'd lookl ike you just walked off a movies set

Picture of my soft kit. I also have a highlander kit but don't have any current pictures of it on my computer right now. Excellent! Is that doublet Ravenwood Leather?

It's the Albion that makes your kit so nice ;D Quite a weapon for a poor soldier!

Yup, love Ravenswood stuff. Not sure if I look like a soldier of fortune or a spanish pimp banker, but it's pretty slick

ROFLMAO!!...
Something else about Ravenswood. I sent them an e-mail and asked, since I'm a right handed swordsman, would it be much cost and fuss for them to change the template for their Jerkin and reverse the buttons to the opposite side so the jacket was opening would not be exposed to the strong side of my body.
Ravenswood came right back and said, "no trouble, no extra charge".
What a great bunch of folks....

You all have some cool kits! I like Ravenwood, they have some good stuff, and the owner is left handed so there is a lot of stuff there for left handers. Here some pics of me. I threw this one together for fun, It was at a fantasy hallows Eve faire. I used to have an GDFB gambeson, but it suck badly. I could hardly move in it let alone fight in it, so I sold it a got a better one.

Soft Kit I am working on? I know there are a few ren fairs and such in southern Ontario. Do you go to any ? Where do you wear this? I am thinking of trying to hit a few festivals this year. Regards, Randy

Great thread, thanks everyone for posting. My wife and I have only recently been bitten by the bug to put together garb or a soft kit for each of us and this has been one of the places I've looked for inspiration. Plus, it's just awesome to see some of the outfits and armor. Thanks again.

Picture of the girlfriend and I from the fair. She ended up ditching the helm and going with a knightly headband. Think it turned out great! We're both improving on our gear, and I'm going to be having a nice breastplate made at last!

Here's a photo of some of my kit. Shield is a Windlass Viking. (Hard to find a shield I can use as a lefty.) Crown is paper from an English Christmas Cracker. Drill is a Makita 454. (From Christmas 2009.) Attachments:

Close-faced Spangenhelm Gothic Fluted Breastplate Chainmail coif and maille Black Hakama (Adopted Korean, so within my group I "roleplay" as a Chinese merc who went to Japan then made his way to Germany via the Silk Road through Constantinople) Grosse Messer (retired) H/T Longsword
