EVIL! EVIL! EVIL! I started out just wanting to purchase a nice side sword to go with my Ren garb..... Now I find myself reading reviews of everything from Katanas to Excalibur! I find myself wanting a great sword and a riveted maille Hauberk & Coif! I'm thinking about building a Pell in the back yard.... I'm wondering if I'm too old to take lessons or join a SCA group. Y'all did this. It's all your fault! ;D ;D

Just wait, it gets worse. Right now you're looking at VA, Gen2, Hanwei and so on. Soon it'll be Albions and beyond. Next thing you know, you're bank accounts are empty, you sell you're car and all your checks bounce. But man, don't those Albions look pretty, and that new fableblade from Bren is in the mail!

Native American flutes, oh man you're speaking my language. I've got four at the moment. Had to scale back. One's an Oconaluftee Cherokee, got a cedar Navajo, another Cherokee and a Sioux. Been playing for about 12yrs. Ever heard of carlos Nakai?

Read Oakeshott's Archeaology of Weapons. great info in that one.

If I'm on my computer, I'm here, and now I find myself needing to explore many different kinds of swords and styles. Arg!

gearloose, you have put a name to my problem....... I never realized it till you stated it so eloquently....... I had time and money....... until I found SBG. Now I find myself wanting every sword, mace, ax, shield, armour, and on and on....... Heck I've even picked through dumpsters to get empty water bottles. (just cut some of those dumpster bottles today ;D) Heck for my mid life crisis I don't want cool fast cars or hot young girls. Nope, just swords. I've even been caught on line checking out Nihonto, and them blades are pricey. The wife didn't like my idea of selling one of the many kids to finance that idea. So I'm with you EVIL! EVIL! EVIL! so thank you SBG! ;D

I have a couple of dozen 10th century Viking pan flutes ready for finishing out in my wood shop. You go to RenneFaires or SCA events as a Merchant? It might be a good idea. Especially if you have music for those pan-flutes. I have this crazy idea that they might just sell...

Flutes, hammer dulcimers, psalterys, kanteles, and whatever other medieval/renaissance instruments I can build. Maybe even some of those flutes from the New World. ;D

To hijack a bit further, I would love to see some pics. at my most I had 12 flutes, but had to scale back, so I kept only my favorites.

I'm going to the KC Renfaire in a couple of weeks. They have a "No Weapons" policy, so I though about sticking one of my larger flutes in my baldric, and a smaller one in my dagger frog!
