we had a pretty good crowd that day and it was a bucketload of fun. If you check the "cutting from the minimoyoushi" thread buried in the cutting videos forum you will find a TON of videos from that day. everybody in attendance had done some good cutting before that day but there was something in the air that day and the great cuts rolled out like magic! it was some of the best cutting I've ever seen. and it was fun definitely worth a watch

The first video I watched I at once noticed all these cut mats on the ground and said to myself, Holy smokes look at all the cutting debris. Some nice cuts there. Today I had to carve an overgrown trail to an old property....whooooosh,,,clink!

So, that's ShadowHowler, eh? Sean, you look like an old, dear friend of mine- I'm gonna have to show him this clip if I ever get a chance to see him again, he'll get a laugh out of it! Ya know, its weird, but about a solid 50% of people I know alaways tell me they have a friend/brother/uncle that looks almost exactly like me. I ALWAYS get that 'You remind me so much of so and so...' thing. All that leads me to belive there are a lot of fat, ugly people in this world. ;D

I just figured it meant you were THE MAN and therefore all men look like you to some degree. . .

Yea, what's this nonsense about being fat and ugly? My buddy Brian would take offense to that- he's a large man, bear-like...he's not jiggly. Doesn't look like you are either, just big. And can handle a sword.
Ugly...I can't comment on that, I've been told I am too so I think its subjective. Mrs. Howler doesn't seem to have any complaints - I know you wouldn't be callin the Mrs. a liar would you?
LOL

I'm a big fat bastard... I have no illusions about that! I weigh about 50lbs more then I did when I met (and won the heart of) my wife... so I used to be in MUCH better shape. I'm working on it tho. I don't 'jiggle' alot... my fat is actually pretty dense you can't push it in much... its Irish body armour, baby! I carry it fairly well, I guess, cuz most people are off by 20-40lbs when they try to guess my weight. As for the cutting... very kind words but my cutting that day was AWFUL. I'm not very good in the best of times... but that day was my first time cutting mats EVER... and in the vid above I was using Tom's sword... so I was very nervous. I didn't want to hurt his blade and I was unaccustomed to cutting mats. I normally cut bottles and pumpkins or watermellons... and I have cut (and love to cut) bamboo before, and pool noddles... but had never before cut mats. They are expensive. I was also more then a bit nervous with Tom, Hiroshi and Jonis there... all VERY good cutters. I hope to put up some videos very soon with better cutting. Not GREAT cutting, I don't do that... but at least better.

Well, its a realistic goal you've set...we all desire to be better than we are now, so I'm with you there.
Its funny, while watching you I had this vision of you in a ringmail hauberk and helm, with a wicked two-handed battle axe, bellowing in rage and cutting wide swaths through the enemy. Hmm. Might have to do a write-up on that one.
