I don't think that I am going to get one, although I am very, very tempted to. That S-shaped guard is the main thing holding me back. I would prefer the plain version in black, except that I like the grip on the custom ones. I am going to get two swords eventually, I just don't really know when. I learn something new every day, so every day I get new ideas.

Get it customized the way you like ! Folks at Valiant will do it i'm sure. I like that sword so much that Brian customized mine, you cant go wrong with it. I have swords worth 3 times as much but this one is still one of my favorite cutting swords. And i have an older version, the new ones are said to be even better ! I dont like the ''S'' shaped guards at all by the way. But thats just me On the other hand the Tinker GSOW is also something to looks upon. I know its hard to decide, but you got to take the plunge ! Only after that you,ll know best what you want, so for the first one dont take something to costly, keep it under the 300$ mark and have fun with it

My plan so far has been to get the VA 304S and the Hanwei norman or EMSHS. I am going to wait for a GSOW review before purchasing anything.

No, although I have heard several people make claims about purchasing one. I am hoping that these people will do reviews when they do buy them.

I would order it just to review it for you but Im cut off sword buying (also Id rather have the DSA gothic) I have the DSA Gothic... and while I like it (Mine has been Customized a bit) its a VERY different sword type then the GSoW. The DSA is a thrust-focused sword... very stiff and with a very acute point. The GSoW is ALL cutter.

I just took a look at them. I REALLY like the oxblood one. I dig the curved guard as well.

IMO its the best one in their lineup. my responsible inner-adult has just informed that I MUST steer very clear of this portion of the discussion or I will be in a LOT of trouble. well I sure hope SOMEONE reviews the GSOW soon, I've taken a serious interest in the Tinker line from Hanwei now that they seem to have their edge problems solved.

I hope someone beats Sean and me to the GSOW, because it's going to take both of us some time to get it and review it. But I'll definitely chime my thoughts once I get it, even if there's a review already, as I'm sure Sean will, too.
Most of my money right now is tied up in bills. I could buy one, sure, then I'd have an awesome sword but no place to live. ;D At least no one would contend Squatter's Rights with me, eh? Hopefully it will be soon, though. After this sword I'm done with collecting for awhile. The only way I'd get another sword would be to sell my custom 303S to buy either the VA Crusader or an AT1315. I'd like to put the grip from my 303 on the 1315, though, so selling it before then would sort of impede that.

hold on, you want to put the grip from your 303 on a 1315? is your 303 a custom or at least a second gen done in-house at VA? otherwise I'm not sure why you'd want to do that, the grip is my LEAST liked thing about my AT303 and I have plans to throw it away once I get a decent replacement made.

Yeah, Tom, it's a custom grip. Sonny put the Signature Crusader grip on it for me because I had such a problem with the first-gen grip, which is the same as the second-gen grip. And I know the 1315 has a fairly small grip, too. But I looove the custom grip. ;D Edit: Here's a pic of it. Looks more like oxblood in the pic, but it's antiqued brown.

oooooooooooh! the jealousy ooozes from my every pour and your comment now makes lots of sense.
I think that grip would look good with my purple colored pommel and maybe a red-ish cross if I can get that color. I'll have to try again.

Thanks Tom, it's definitely a more user-friendly grip than the stock ones. I'm looking forward to what you come up with for yours.
