As most of you have learned, my choices are never permanent until I actually buy the swords, so if you want to post the review, Tom, please do. I am going to order my swords today, or at least try to. The only sword that I am somewhat unsure of is the norman. I have my doubts about its handling compared to the EMSHS, but I know that I will like it anyways. Although, I haven't actually bought anything yet, so... Lunaman, I actually think that the black leather looks more LOTR. The majority of the swords in the movies had black grips and scabbards.

I'm sorry for posting twice in a row, but I just counted my money and realised that I am $30 short of them amount I need to get all three swords.

If I had the money I'd pay for the difference... but maybe you could go ahead and get the T/H's to fit within Tom's time limit and save for another week or two to get the VA? Either way, good choices. I think that the VA304S will be much more to your liking than the T/H longsword. ;D -Slayer

I will wait to get the VA 304S. I discovered that I won't be able to order the swords until Tuesday though, which is the 8th. I doubt that the swords will arrive at Tom's house by the 11th. I am going to ask him what he wants to do.

Lunaman, I actually think that the black leather looks more LOTR. The majority of the swords in the movies had black grips and scabbards. To each his own--I just know how stunning the brown looks in hand, considering almost all production swords have black leatherwork, it really sets it apart. And unless memory serves me incorrectly, I'm fairly sure the majority of the movie swords DIDN"T have black grips and scabbards: Ranger Sword=Dark Green Sting=Stained wood, sliver leaf inlay, brown scabbard Glamdring=Deep Blue Boromir's Sword=Brown Knives of Legolas=Oak handles, white scabbards Herugrim, Sword of King Theoden=Brown Eowyn's Sword=Brown Gúthwinë, Eomer's Sword=Brown Isildur's Sword=Brown Hadhafang, Sword of Elrond/Arwen=Stained wood, golden leaf inlay Haldir's Sword=Brown, Gold inlay High Elven Warrior Sword=Brown, gold leaf inlay Faramir's Sword=Brown grip, Dark Green Scabbard Anduril/Narsil= Yes, Black. ;D Dude, if you lived near me I would give you $30 to get that last sword. You've done so much work to get this close.

I stand corrected, lol. I am going to get that last sword, I may have to wait a little while longer though. It doesn't look like I will be able to use Tom's free sharpening service. I waited too long to order the swords, so I will either have to wait until the end of October and see if Tom renews his offer or forget about it.

Aw, nuts. That was one heck of an offer. However, if you buy a VA sword or two right now, you don't need the free sharpening offer.....
Food for thought.....

That's true. It's too bad that VA doesn't have a practical viking.

You're a lot more patient than I was at 16 Jonathan, mate. It does you credit, believe me.

I think that it was because when I was a child I had to use money acquired by holidays to buy toys, unless it was Christmas or my birthday. Now I am able to wait even if I have the means to acquire what I want.

That is a beautiful sword. I would wait for its release and get it instead of the H/T, but money is short for me.

Tonight I shall order the Valiant Armoury 304S and the Hanwei / Tinker Norman. The Viking will be purchased in around a month's time.

Great news! You're taking the first step that I wish I could be taking now, as due to familial constraints I won't be getting my first sword for a while. I hope they turn out well for you, and especially hope that you get a Norman with a good edge on it. I'm looking forward to the reviews.

I may have to wait until tomorrow to order the Norman. It depends on whether wiwingti logs on tonight or not, lol. I will make an attempt at detailed reviews of all my swords.

Good for you, Jonathon! +1 for the decision, and thanks for the promise of reviews! The sword review section has been woefully quiet lately... I'm not sure that the 304S has been reviewed since the second batch came in... I look forward to it! And you made an excellent choice, my friend. One single hander, one 2-handed sword; one VA and one Tinker/Hanwei. A well rounded start to your collection, if I do say so myself. ;D Congrats, Jon. Remember that you can get any color grip on the VA if you get it from Sonny directly. -Slayer

The 304S has just been purchased from the SBG sword store. It is now official - I shall be getting the VA practical longsword. I am still waiting on wiwingti to reply to my PM.
