If your really all about the Crusades... you could just wait a bit and pick up the Crusader and the Templar when they both come out.

I will get the crusader and the templar if I have enough money when I get done with my job. Right now I don't know if I will have quite enough, I might be a hundred dollars short. Which is why I have decided not to buy anything until I am finished working. If I almost have enough to get both, I will. I hate waiting, but I think that it is by far worth it.

Yeah, I was kinda wondering why you weren't just getting two. But you kept saying you could only get one, so I didn't say anything.

I thought that I would only be able to get one, but then I learned that I could get two. I think that the Templar and the Crusader will make a good pair, don't you?

For whatever reason the swords in the signature line don't really jump out at me. *shrugs*

Really? That's surprising. Cosmetically, they look like CF swords to me, but they supposedly perform really good too.

Everyone has different tastes... I have the Bristol from the signature line... and the Practical Arming and Longswords... and I LOVE em. I'm hopping to pick up the Hedemark and the Malatesta when they come out, I'm in love with those swords. The VA Signature Serries and the new Kensei Katanas are the only new production swords on my wish list at the moment.

I have not seen a VA signature sword that I didn't like. My least favorite was the bristol, just because I think the hilt looks strange. I really like the Malatesta and the Hedemark. That's mainly because hand and a half swords are my favorite, but I also love viking swords. That may be because I for one think that I look strikingly similar to a norseman, and because "The Thirteenth Warrior" is one of my favorite movies. I don't know if I want the Templar, the Malatesta, or the Kriegschwert. All three of them look really good. The crusader wins the single hand category by a long shot. I wish that some high quality pictures of the Templar were available, because all of the current ones are dark and blurry looking.

It's a GREAT shortsword... feels light yet powerful in hand... I love it. The over all look of it was really uniqe to me, like nothing else I had seen on the market, and I really dug that about it. I love the light brown leather color on the Crusader, but crosses are not my thing so... meh.

It would be even better if it was a celtic cross. I am getting the Crusader, that much I know. I just don' know what two hander I am getting. I love the Malatesta's scabbard, but the grip looks weird to me. The Kriegschwert looks good, but I kind of want something newer than that. The Templar is another story. I can't really get a good idea of what it looks like due to the crappy pictures. From what I saw, it appears to be rather plain and unadorned, with the exception of the cross on the pommel, the scabbard, and the chape. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't know it that's what I want or not.

I agree about the Bristol and the Templar especially. It looks to be a pretty nice sword, but it seems really plain compared to the rest of the Signature Series swords. not that plain is a bad thing, the Crusader isn't terribly fancy but it's certainly the most appealing to me out of them all.

The Templar doesn't stand out like the Crusader does. Even so, I will wait for VA to release more pictures of it before I make a final decision. I'm basically sold on the crusader, though. The custom sword shop sounds very interesting too, but I don't know if it would be more expensive than just getting a Signature sword.

Here is a quick video of the Knights Templar prototype. It's not the greatest but you get to see another look at it. As soon as I get a look at the Crusader prototype I'll get one up.
Richard
Edit: not the Crusader but Knights Templar

It is the Templar, I think. It looks really good Richard, thank you for the video. The tip looks lik it is a flattened diamond shape in the cross section. Is this going to be the final product, or do you think it will change somewhat? Could you possibly give me the statistics for it as of now?

That is just a prototype Richard posted. The Templar is lenticular from the fuller to the tip.

Since all you guys are already in this thread, could I convince you to make a Signature model with a XIIIb type blade? I would have to take back what I said about the line not being my thing.

Thanks for the video, I am looking forward to seeing the video of the Crusader too. Could someone from VA of Sword Nation give me the statistics of the Templar and the Crusader?
