Just checked Weta's website - the upcoming Eowyn's sword with Bronze fittings is quoted at 3.6 lbs... But then again, Peter Lyon is a master at grinding, and I do believe his LOTR swords are hollow ground? Jash, I think that's correct. I believe he hollow grinds/ground all the lotr swords? Someone help? Lol

Thank you all ! pattyb0009 - I agree, I also wish the fittings were brass or bronze. But.. after the current weight of roughly 3.5 lbs, I'm wondering how much heavier the sword would be lol. I know the upcoming Peter Lyon Weta MSSC Eowyn's sword is using Bronze fittings... I know his Boromir sword weighs, what, 9 pounds? But oh so beautiful!

Great review! Disappointing that there are zinc alloy fittings (though bronze might make it too heavy) and you got a bent hilt. I still may be interested. Overall, it's a good looking sword.

These are awesome. I can't wait to see the finished blades. These two swords have always had a special place in my heart lol.

I second this. Apparently, outside of Eastern Europe, it's super hard to get a Polish Saber.

West Tennessee here. No ammo to be found, especially .223/5.56 and 9mm/.45. Local firearms places are stripped of ARs, but there are Glocks and Kahrs to be found along with some S&W revolvers. Luckily, I already have all the firearms I could need and a good bit of ammo to boot. But more never hurts!
Exception is 12 gauge buckshot. Our cups runneth over from Wally World to local stores. All the shells you could want.

Does anyone know where it's possible to unload AR parts? I have literally everything but the upper and the lower frame to get rid of. Trigger group, stock, pins, forward assist, ejector dust cover, grip, etc. I recently replaced all of these and just need to unload them super cheaply.

www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/Fully custom, made to size, some of their models when unlined can pass as a form of "Sword glove" Their sizing process is quite comprehensive including sending them an outline of your hand. Not cheap, but quality is never worth counting pennies on. I was actually checking them out this morning. The price isn't terrible. More than fair for bespoke gloves. I'll get a couple pairs from them! Thanks.

I don’t have an answer to your question. However unless you have some deformity I’d suggest a good pair of gloves sold as stock items. I have a pair from Amazon, unfortunately no longer sold. They were sold as biker’s gloves and there was one review from a rapier instructor endorsing them saying that he bought them for his classes. I found them very supple and was able to use my computer’s keyboard with no problem wearing them. I later bought a pair from MRL’s DoD that were almost as good, perhaps after they get broken in about equal. At the moment they stored away as a backup. I had an excellent pair of civil war repro gloves that...well...fit like a glove lol. But those are stashed somewhere. Essentially lost. I don't have a deformity, per se, but i have tiny hands. Like I wear women's sizes. So I have a hard time with finger length particularly.

Hello, all! Do any of you fine folks know anyone who makes custom gloves/custom sword gloves? Like the leather and maybe lined kind. Not so much the bulky HEMA ones. Thanks!

Albion has long been the standard for "perfection" in terms of handling and fit and finish, but the offerings from VA have been pretty spectacular of late. Their Craftsman series is pretty top notch (made by Sonny and Zach), and Sonny and Zach Suttles will make it right for you if something is not up to spec. I've spoken to Sonny many times and had custom stuff made; he's a pleasure and very responsive to email in my experience. Even their Chinese made blades are pretty great. Their scabbard work is also pretty out of this world. For my money, the best scabbards around: great detailing, riser work etc.
But Albion is very good in fit/finish and feel in the hand. Plus it's such a storied company at this point that there is a certain mystique to holding one of their blades in your hand. Very cool.
Plus the Albion maker's mark is pretty nifty looking.
