the order surge probably pushed the backlog for October orders to 20-24 months

Good news! KOA is shipping my Munich today! I am very excited to finally receive this sword. I'll update the thread when it arrives with the actual wait time, from order to delivery. So far, it's been over 24 months.

I saw that you ordered a "gothic" one, but what color is the leather, and are the guard/pommel darkened, aged, or otherwise different than the standard satin finish? I purchased mine directly from Albion, and got the half-wire wrap, black leather, and blackened furniture (which unexpectedly included the wire in the wrap). I absolutely love the sword. It feels amazing in motion, and strikes with much more authority than one would guess from its apparent slenderness.

Have you posted photos anywhere?

I ended up going with just the basic black leather and satin finish, mainly to match my other two Albions. It was a tough choice though, I thought about going with black furniture as well. You helped talk me into the Munich actually Zen haha, I made a thread a couple years ago where I was indecisive between the Munich and the Brescia.

You can always blacken it yourself later, and remove the blackening with flitz pretty easily too

In December of 2022, they said they were finishing orders from August 2020. It seems the wait times are actually increasing. I am honestly not surprised in this day and age. It can't really be helped.

I’m waiting on my first ever sword, an Albion Vigil since May 2022. At close to 19 months now. I emailed them last week with no response yet. I’m sure they’re incredibly busy. Based on what i’ve been hearing, it would seem that the average wait time for 2021-2022 orders is about 18-21 months. This gives me time to get my scabbard made at least. I went with a Z scabbard from Tod’s stuff. Needless to say i’m extremely excited to see this sword and scabbard together and will post pictures here.

I think it is averaging about 22 months now. That is basically the time period for my last sword I received. I ordered it the first week of Jan 2022 and received it the last week of October 2023.

I just received a fedex email that my Hersir is on the way, ordered on March 1, 2022, so that's pretty much the 22 month average as well.

Earl w/half wire grip and Viceroy. Later changed the Viceroy to Landgraf after I picked up a Viceroy here when I got tired of waiting.

I wondered that as well, although if that is the case I was not so advised either at the time or in response to subsequent inquiries. I have been told Albion does swords in batches so I expected the Landgraf delivery time to reflect the order change. But the Earl? Plus I ordered though KOA and I would assume they want their $ sooner rather than later, unless they left my original order intact to sell on their website. I have seen both swords come up for sale on their site (an irritation, as I have said elsewhere on this forum) but the grip colors were different. Oh well. Just hope that Munich I ordered right before the price rise is delivered before I "shuffle off this mortal coil"

Maybe we should time the rest of our lives in units of "Albion Delivery Time"? I think the number would be even lower if we timed the rest of our lives in units of "do I have enough spare cash for anorher Albion?"

I love the type XVII swords, the Landgraf and Sempach, but I haven't ordered one yet Would you mind telling me what appeals to you about them? The visual grows on me the more I look on the website, they look light and really pointy! Unique and underrated sword type

It was the blade type that struck me. I love the combination of partial fuller and acute point. I am excited to handle the Sempach. The curved guard and pommel look amazing. I had a hard time choosing between it and the Landgraf as I like the cutouts on the Landgraf guard and pommel cross. But I also have a Warwick and Crecy so the Sempach adds something a little different to the collection.
