I tried asking them for an inquiry on how much a certain sword would cost, and their response was "sorry that sword is out of stock". I was under the impression that you can still order stuff that is listed out of stock on their site to be custom made

I would guess that it wouldn't be wise to try to push HuaWei to accept an order they're reluctant to take, especially when they're struggling to fulfill orders on "in stock" items.

For now I'll save up for a zsey. When Huawei has dealt with their order issues, only then will I order something from them(if that ever happens) |

gorgeous. looks like they're even improving on polish and fine details. I agree with jdawg, he and everyone else should not order from Huawei. everyone should start ordering from jkoo and hanbon instead. so I can place my own Huawei order and not have to wait  jk. but seriously, stop ordering from Huawei. |

Thanks everyone! I'm thrilled to finally have a decent blade after two not quite good enough orders from JKOO. I was planning to do a full review once the sword is mounted but here are some more of the pics Huawei sent me. It's a mid kamakura bizen style blade with ikubi-kisaki, koshizori and hososuguha.    |

Howdy y’all, this is my first post on here after lurking for a few months about 3, 4 years ago. I completely forgot this website existed, my apologies,I had a son mid pandemic . Be that as it may, I figured I’d jump on here and say hello as well as state my surprise to find out about Huawei after placing an order 🤦🏻♂️. I won’t get into specifics other than that I own a Ronin dojo pro and “that which shall not be named”. I watched the Matthew Jenson and Steel forged in fire videos about Huawei and ordered one this past July 26th, basically the exact one steel forged in fire reviewed… Then I remembered this forum and found this post… OMG… I figured maybe a year wait was the most Id have to endure, but now I see that 2 years + may be a reality.. SMH… I did email them and got a response from Jinkai chen that “the saya is being painted, it will be 15-20 days”, I politely said thanks for the update and left it at that. Hopefully I’ll see the sword within a year lol. At any rate, break out the saki y’all, because misery loves company. Pleasure to meet everyone.

I don’t have a Huawei but they look great for the price. Do we know they are in CCP COVID lockdown? Over 373 million are locked down in several large cities and it’s bad. Every kind of possible export is impacted and has been for weeks With ongoing extensions. Believe me, I’d be upset too. The delays with Huawei and repeated lack of communication with Skyjiro have kept me from either. Btw and FWIW- I’m going on 11 months for a 8 month wait for a US smith and don’t expect anything for another 2-3 months. This doesn't relate specifically to Huawei, but yeah, China has not only shut down from Covid, but also the heatwave which is shutting down factories; a drought which is affecting their hydroelectric power... one of my contacts in Longquan says that saya are way behind, and that's holding up a lot of customs at the moment. cookie cutter saya fit for the standard 27.5" blade don't seem to be affected as much. |

Update and correction
I ordered the sword as stated previously from HuaWei, but it was on July 19th, and my inquiry email to them was on July 26th. To my delight, I received my katana yesterday -9/7/22… I am working on a review, but the sword is more than I could have imagined. Needless to say I am extremely pleased. I’m still figuring out how to upload photos here, but this is a YouTube link to the quick video I made. Any questions and I will do my best to answer.

To my delight, I received my katana yesterday -9/7/22… I am working on a review, but the sword is more than I could have imagined. Needless to say I am extremely pleased. I’m still figuring out how to upload photos here, but this is a YouTube link to the quick video I made. Any questions and I will do my best to answer. maybe they are starting to fix the shipping issues? thats not too long of a wait |

Whoopps, also of note. I ordered the in stock Dotanuki katana. I didn’t ask for any modifications. Maybe that affects the turn around 🤷🏻♂️
