I've not completed a review yet, so perhaps that excludes me from this, but I've always wanted to and I won't get anywhere without trying, right? I'm in Brittany, France Preferred types are anything from bastard sword length to Great sword but also a keen interest in any modern pattern, the "tactical" types or hybrid ( like the Windlass Dark Sentinel, one of which I have) Thanks for any consideration

Hey all, I’m in Phoenix, Arizona, USA
My preferred sword types are medieval and Viking bastard and short swords, but I’m ok with anything.
I am new to the sword community and haven’t done any reviews yet but I’d love to learn how to. I am able to do video and written reviews on whatever I need to. There’s always a first time for everything!

- Location - Georgia, USA
- Preferred Sword Type - Katana, Wakizashi
- Tatami Video
A video of my cutting prowess! Ha ha. I teach martial arts and would love to review every sword you throw my way. I’m well versed in the katana and can speak to each and every feature from the fittings, steels, laminations, to balance, you name it. The video says it all. SBG has helped me find a few swords. My favorite is a Ronin Katana Elite in Soshu Kitae laminated steel. Thank you for your consideration, Cheers.

- Rapiers, Gladius, Jian, Dao, Short Swords
I am a female martial artist, and have trained in various weapon styles. I'm proficient with a variety of sword types and would love to provide a woman's perspective.
Looking forward to the opportunity to review some steel soon. Thanks

Eight first time posters looking for free swords. 😏 If it was me, and I wanted to have swords reviewed, I would not only wait for forum posters to actually notice that thread and propose themselves but try and reach some well known reviewers like Matthew Jensen and Skallagrim.

Maybe they have. Possibly throwing a wide net.

But those guys are already well known. Why not give some people that are hardly known a chance. Different perspectives, methods and techniques in the reviews that people are used to,and give some a chance to actually get some swords as a lot of members don't have a lot of swords to be able to even get a chance at starting to do reviews.

That's true, and that's a good thing too.
However, given Paul said he would be handing quite a lot of swords for reviews, it would only make sense for him to also reach out for some of those well known reviewers.
Everyone get something, forum members get swords and do theirs, then SBG get also more visibility with a couple 'celebrities', so to speak.
After all he's running a business, what he's looking for here (beside pleasing us unwashed peasants) is publicity and visibility.
Everyone wins.
P.S Hey-ho, not much into reviews, though I did a few, mostly katana (I keep procrastinating on a couple already, and I don't do videos), but if Paul want to throw something my way I'll take one, sure..

Another thing to consider is I'm willing to bet the people here are a large part of the sales, and people who used to be signed up here. Not to mention the people who will see the product and have a detailed review to be linked to on the sales page I can kinda see the angle he's going with. When I buy stuff, I love seeing detailed reviews on the page it's being sold on. It's usually how I pick my products

My attitude about this whole thing is if I am chosen, I will take it very seriously and I will be delighted to participate. If I am not chosen, which is a likely outcome given how many worthy people have thrown their hats in, then come what may. I don't really stand to lose anything either way.

Pretty much my thoughts also. I don't expect to get any free swords. Did this thread prompt me to start reviewing the swords in my collection? Yes, it did. And I discovered I really like doing it, so I'll keep at it even when I receive nothing. Nobody owes me a free sword, that's for sure!

I wanna review my shield but I'm waiting for my armour to arrive. I will look like quite the fool comparing the shield to my body in a picture without armour once I have the armour
