The ammo shortage in South Texas is largely over. Some specialty ammo is still unobtainable like 40-44, and .357 is still a little tricky to get (That's getting better though) but .45 long colt, 9mm, and .223 are easy for me to get now. I am so happy that the great ammo drought is ending. I just laid in a supply of 12k rounds of 9mm; 6k @ 115gr FMJ and 5k rounds of 9mm 147gr Flat nose FMJ. Hopefully I can average down in the future as I continue to replenish my stocks.

Gotta see how much .223 I still have, We had a lot but by Brother's Mini-14 keeps eating it. Looking at getting one of those Henry Big Boy X tactical lever actions in .45 LC, fell in love with the one at my favorite store.

AmmoSeek.com has been my go to source since the Covid crunch hit. If it's available anywhere you'll likely find it on their site.

In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor." C'mon... 10 guns? The 100k ammo is good but here in Georgia 10 guns doesn't get them to swipe right. I have 25 firearms and I'm considered a lightweight here. 😉

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man (not me ) who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. By Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds is considered "mentally unstable. BUT…
-In Michigan, he'd be called "the last white guy still living in Detroit." -In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector. -In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector." -In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food. -In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend." -In Montana, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy." -In Idaho, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate." -In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor." -In North Carolina, Virginia, WV, Mississippi, Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama and Minnesota he would be called "a deer hunting buddy." AND, OF COURSE, -In Tennessee, he'd just be "a guy who's a little short on Ammo." In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor." C'mon... 10 guns? The 100k ammo is good but here in Georgia 10 guns doesn't get them to swipe right. Guess I don't quite qualify here in Ga. then. Doesn't matter though, I'm happily married to a wonderful lady that enjoys shooting as much as I do. Her being a 1911 fan is a bit of icing on the cake too.
We are pretty well stocked on ammo right now. After each range trip I look for a good price and replace what we use up.

Whereabouts in GA are you? I’m in the Augusta area. Nice area you live in. I used to come through there from time to time when I worked for an aeospace company a few years back.
I live near Lilburn, for now. We are looking to get out of the cageless zoo known as Metro Atlanta and into a more rural area sometime in the next few months.
