I'm thinking of using some grip band to make a few of my swordgrips thicker and more comfy or for axe handles. . My first thought was tennis grip band, jusr because I like the overlapping wrap of my Zombie Tools swords. There are also bicycle grip bands and Pgandy gave me the idea of silicone rescue band. I will order it here in Germany, I don't know if special US brands are available.

Having tried several options, this is what I use since the last few years, since it is the best I’ve found regarding feeling, aesthetics and durability:
It’s also easy to apply and to take off again.

Yup, works well, ordered more! First it was hard to believe they'd work without a sticky side, but they do. That's really good, you can protect nicer grip wraps without glueing on other stuff. Upholstered my cutlass machete, my EMSHS and my Witham viking.

Guess why I ordered 12 more only for monday! I'm working on upholstering the middle of too straight grips, Cutlass machete feels much better now. I fear I'll wrap my Praying Mantis in the end. (note: must look up if they have it in green)

I wrapped the grip on my H/T Longsword with the Wilson wrap....all the difference between daylight and dark, and it saves my leather grip. Good stuff. (Looks kinda cool too. )

I want to rework some completely round grips more obround to get a better edge alignement, f.e. my Maintz gladius or the Banshee. My 1860 Union Officer's needs a "belly" like my cutlass machete has now. A protective wrap on my Zombie Tools. My warhammers and steroid spike hawk of course... Can anybody stop me please...?

Certainly not me! I must’ve paid more for this stuff than most guys for swords, I guess

My bands arrived yesterday and this morning I was in wrapping mood. I had already thickened my ridiculous small English Cutlass grip with twine and wrapped the Wilson over it. I start to love the EC now. I used furniture glider pads to upholster the area in the middle grip area of the D-Guard Bowie and the Union Officers 1860 and wrapped the Wilson over. Works well. My D'Capitan got a simple overgrip wrap. My Banshee too, but I needed two bands for the long handle. I got a little thicker ring where the bands overlap and to hold it there is comfy.

They all look so much better now, me thinks It’s quite amazing how they affect the handling, isn’t it?

Thinking of my door handles and my steins! Edit: My 3 liter Paulaner stein with improved handling! Can anyone stop me, please?! "No Entry Without Permission!" My last project today: Gen2 Maintz with broadened grip. Since it's a bit ahistorical anyway the wrap doesn't look too strange and it became a better sword.

Love it!

I can see the need for and practicality of the stein. Losing a hold on your beer always sucks. .....

That looks great! 'Wilson'---- If Tom Hanks would have had a sword instead of a stupid ball on that island.....

I just rewrapped the grips of my Hanwei Scottish Broadsword and my Cromwell with upholstering the area under middle and ring finger a bit. First time I like to swing both swords. I know gloves are recommended for those swords but I don't like to wear'em. The broadsword still needs them because my knuckles scratch on the basked (santa liner removed, hated the look). The grips are really ugly now, but it's a joy to hold them.

Looks like I've found something I could easily get into lol. I've always used hockey tape (had to stay true to my heritage) but I like the look of this stuff more
