I recently had an extremely vivid dream in which I won a lot of money. I don't believe in prophetic dreams or prophecy in general but this dream was so vivid that when I saw the Publishers Clearing House contest to win seven thousand a week for life I figured what the heck and entered. I know I'm not going to win but I'm having fun dreaming up ways to spend the cash. One of my favorites is imagining the custom swords I'd order. I know I'd want something from Jeffrey Robinson and Brenno but can you guys suggest someone else who's swords I can drool over? And who would you commision a sword from?

(Lol, sorry it was just set up perfectly, lol. Actually I don't even know what your knives cost. I'm sure though you qualify for a friends and family discount. )

I would like something from Peter Johnsson.
I have had higher end (not mega expensive) customs from some of the smiths out there. Some were good and a couple not so good.
One of my favorites is John Lundemo as I have several and all are excellent swords. John is usually not a stickler for historic blade types but all his swords look and handle great. Prices are very fair.
Jeffrey Robinson has some excellent bronze furniture.
I will say that I have never received a custom sword (many) that were any better than an off the shelf Albion. Some were below Albion level. This is taking the whole sword into comparison. A custom will give you more variety in hilts and such but the blades are where I make my comparisons. I have commissioned some swords that were supposed to have normal blade types that were way overbuilt.

Id like a custom from tod todeschini. Absolutely love all of his work.
Or maybe something a bit simpler from landsknecht emporium
Or if we're talking any price range, Peter johnson. His pieces look like fine artwork!

John Lundemo I’ve never even seen one in person, but high end makers wish for these.
Christian Fletcher These sword and scabbard packages are just gorgeous in photos. I’ll bet they are even better in person.
Wes Beem I have a knife made by Wes, and it really is awesome. A sword would be even awesomer. Plus, you know, it’s made by Wes. When he hammers steel, he MEANS it.
Tom Kinder Very talented, knowledgeable, and skilled. Very nice work.
James Elmslie Having an actual Elmslie falchion would be outstanding.
Lyndle Driggers I have a number of his budget-minded works including a langseax and falcata; all are very well crafted. A higher end custom messer would be sweeeeeeet.
Angus Trim One hand falchion. Cuts like a movie katana. Not sure this counts as a custom, but still.

Good question, and if budget wasn't an issue I'd probably go for many already mentioned, especially if i could get multiple, if not I'd likely stick to historical works, but with unlimited budget I'd definitely get some cool fantasy pieces.
So for my list:
Tomek Kowmal, love his sabers
Leo Todechini, already have a custom dagger but would love a messer or other sword.
Peter Johnson, obvious reasons
Mateusz Sulowski, I'd love to have one if his cluny or alexandrias one day, and its not too far out of my budget so maybe some time.
Jeffrey Robinson, not sure exactly what I'd get but i know I'd want something
Michaelcthulhu, because he is awesome and so are his overbuilt swords

Definitely Jeffrey Robinson, Brenno or Rob Miller. There are plenty other great smiths out there but these three are the ones that really stand out to me.

More gorgeous in person 😏 Beem: dunno anything more indestructible and his edges cut Gods. Trim: handle better than anything I have ever experienced. Olzowy: there is a reason I own multiple. Biggest quality here is beauty and seemingly indestructible. Built like TANKS and purrrty. A lot of his blades can be heavy so stress handling and weight if you get one. Robinson: haven't handled his blades but a few of my Brenno blades sport his bronze. Kinder: my favorite hilts for comfort are his or Sonny's

I might qualify for the discount, but then I just spent a bunch of time making a knife that won't make me any money. My stuff typically starts at $250 and goes up from there.

Brendan Olszowy or Jeffery Robinson. These guys hit the right note of fantasy coupled with practicality for me.

I'm not sure who I'd want to make me a custom blade. I'd need to finish the design first. Current thoughts are along these lines: ~30" mildly curved (ala US 1860) saber blade with a sharpened false edge yelman, point in line with hilt. Solid cup hilt like the Patton, including thumb rest, with hand guard not attaching to the pommel to allow it to be a bit longer, ala hand and a 1/2 style. Finger ring inside. Leaning towards 5160. 32 oz with a proper distal taper would be ideal. But my ideas change often when I see something cool. Or I think of a XM1911 saber reproduction... The "saber ideas" photo selection on my disk is getting larger than I expected

If everything goes well I plan on contacting John Lundemo next year, see how this goes. I just adore his work for years now.
Jeffrey Robinson is next on my list, although my sword funds are still slim - so don't know when and how. But his work is stellar, he is definitely on my to-go list.
Other than that, while I don't own a high-end custom, I have yet to see a sword that doesn't need touching up. Every sword I have is either made, or remade by me - at least to a degree. Currently finished repolishing KA arming sword, and still need to remove/replace the handle as the crossguard rattles. So kinda curious of this whole custom route - I hope these won't need any work out of the box :).
(already waiting for a sword from Sonny at Valiant Armoury now).

A sword by John Lundemo that is designed similarly to Lancelot Chan's Giant Silvia is at the top of my list. Anything for artistry by Jeffrey Robinson & Brendan Olszowy is also a must for me when I can afford it (hopefully sooner rather than later). I'm also partial to katana by Przemek. A Rick Barret sword would also be phenomenal.
Edit: Also a pair of tactical wakizashi/messer style blades by Wes Beem or L. Driggers would be fantastic.
I really need to stop buying production swords so I can get around to saving up for the aforementioned swords.

Now that you guys mention it, something from L. Driggers would be a must, I have an axe from him made when he was just starting to make such things and he is a fine gentleman to deal with.

I would take any custom made by anyone truth be told. It's amazing holding a hand made sword.
But if I could choose who by, the majority of sword makers on this forum make amazing stuff. It would be cool to get another sword made by someone that I somewhat know
Gandermail: I agree. I would love to own another driggers sword. They are fantastic
