I looked at these a while ago and the shipping killed it for me. Similar swords at KOA for much cheaper shipping.

I'll possibly go there to save myself from the greed when I have business in town.

Well there you go, check to see if anyone else wants one but don't want to pay the high shipping. Make some money on the deal. Just try not to get caught transporting all those weapons across the border. You'll probably still have to pay the import tax. Glad I got my Eindride when I did.

Without getting into the murk around them, I will say my philosophy is 40 bucks for shipping is trivial when I am paying over 500 anyway for the product. It would be something of an issue if I wanted one of these cheapo swords though.

No, I mean, I live in Canada, practically next door! I ordered a large spearhead and butt cap for 17$ CAN from RELIKS in Ontario, and DSA would charge 72$ CAN for 1/8th of the distance. Sometimes I wonder if some sellers don't look at the shipping cost, charge double and pocket half.

Shipping charged is rarely the actual shipping cost. They're probably figuring in the packaging material and a little extra. Most shipping companies use to put the actual shipping charge on the label but they don't do that anymore. It use to be the money you saved on sales tax covered the shipping but now they charge sales tax too.

Quite possible, make sense, thanks.
Anyhow, will just stop by, grab one (or 2) and sharpen it myself, saves even more money. I've seen/got a few secondary bevel sharpening now, and they are mostly Work Sharp level jobs, I can do that myself. Besides: Ken Onion.

It's the nature of the beast. Some people if you give them two solid gold eggs they would cry that they can't make a omelet out of them. But if you're buying a cheap sword you also don't what the shipping charge to be half the price of the sword. If you're buying a thousand dollar sword $40 shipping doesn't hurt as much.

I swallow it when ordering from the US or elsewhere, but this is outrageous when the order practically comes from next corner of the street.

You would think for the price we would have the fastest shipping in the world. But naturally, as Canada usually will be, it's the opposite
