Hi fellow collectors; Just last night ordered my second sword. Custom Wakizashi in a cherry blossom theme furniture. It is 1095 clay tempered 22 inch blade with a rather unique Hamon pattern. Double groove from Yokote to 3 cm before the Habaki. Mr Yao from Hanbon said he could do this without issue for under $237.00 shipped. They did my first sword a custom Katana that was perfect and exactly what I had specified. To me it is a master piece. Dangerous artwork the wife calls it. I will post some pictures when it is done in a month or so. Pete

Yo, Wrench! Welcome aboard the Flying Dutchman. It's been five whole days since I bought another historically interesting pigsticker, one of the two I expect to arrive on Friday. Be sure and don't let your wife vulture any of this, or she may get some idea of what you've gotten into.

It's the steel on the inside that counts.

The trick is....buy them something too. Even if it's just a little coin-purse or a tiny little dagger. Just say---"Here, honey...I got this JUST FOR YOU."

My wife now questions me sharply when she sees me looking at display cases. She knows it will end up with objects inside.

I'm very happy with my 2 swords. Hanbon did a great job. Big blue katana and cherry blossom wakizashi. Both custom made to the exact specifications I asked for. Thank you. Pete.

You won't have any luck with Photobucket I'm afraid, better to use Imgur.

That's a really pretty sword :} I love the double bo-hi on the waki it really fits... I particularly like how both of your swords have bo-hi that terminate before the habaki. It is still really strange to me that anyone would make a blade with a bo-hi that extends under the habaki but that unfortunately does seem to be the rule and not the exception, it is nice to see a blade design that gets that right.

Are you saying that they are not showing? They are on my phone. Photobucket always shows the "3rd party hosting temporarily disabled" message to me, I assumed it does for everyone else as well, same on my phone, hmm.
