I didn't even see this thread lol. The Sword of Danu was intended as a hand and a half (the guard was intended to be wider, but I feel like this current design would work better with a shield), but I am not too sad its a short sword. It is a lot longer than it looks, as the pic makes it look stubby, plus Paul told me the grip will be thinned. But after they make the scabbard and polish the sword up, I am sure it may appeal to you guys a bit more The entire sword was measured to have a 22-21" blade, 4" grip and 1.5" pommel. So its not TOO short. I like to see it as a Celtic Gladius. It appeals to me much more in that perspective But as for the bonus winners, I really like the Goblin King sword, and would love to buy one... But anyone who knows me knows I ain't got money Hahaha. Plus I also prefer scabbards. My sabre has no scabbard and its an absolute pain to try store safely. I would love to take it out of its box but it was so hard to pack safely

Brutal honesty. They are fugly. Most fantasy weapons are based more or less on a real weapon but taken to an extreme that borders on caricature. And that is all well and good. But these sword offerings are just fugly. I would rather have the real historic versons of what they were based on and pretend they are fantasy than have these fantasy swords and pretend they were real.
Sorry to be so blunt, but if they were given to me for free I would sell them or give them away.

Quick update on 2 of the 4 original winners: Aelutian Gladius (Hoffman): Sword of Danu: and the black Flamberge blade I posted earlier:

That flamberge is pretty neat! Especially considering there are next to none on the market.

Fantasy swords are usually a fickle market. Add to that fact the design of a sword someone makes that they like may not appeal to everyone. Almost every custom I have had made and later sold cost me 1/3 or more in resale drop.
I think all the swords being sold look good and the prices are fair but being someone else's custom design might mean they will not appeal to many.
I would recommend a review of each.

I guess I should start saving up for the Vorpal, the Castir, and the Black Flamberge.

Those have the look I would expect in a fantasy blade. Interested in seeing how that Gladius turns out.

I think I’m ordering the Gladius and Castir, both because they’re cool looking swords and to support the project :p Since it’s not out yet I’ll just save up.

I -really- like the 'modern' Aelutian Gladius, the Castir, the Vorpal Blade (conditionally), and that Flamberge. The flamberge is... whew.

But measured out, it should be roughly the length of an arm.

Whoah, that is a really cool looking flamberge. Might have to add that to the Castir and Vorpal...and there goes my budget for a VA Irish pommel longsword again....and then when I look at the leafy Danu I figure four swords sounds better than three, and there goes my sword budget.

I still like the look, but it's not for me, sadly.

Well, im confused as hell now. The Goblin king, orc king, aleutian all have pinned knife handles and knife grinds. The only one of the first batch i would consider is the OrcKingCleaver. I really like the profile of the Aleutian, but those unsightly pins in the pommel are hideous. Too simplistic and lacking in refinement. Harsh plunge lines, pinned hilts, pedestrian wood slabs etc. Theres potential, but these are the reasons i dont own any Scorpion stuff.

and the black Flamberge blade I posted earlier: Do you have some general stats on the flamberge, even ballpark estimates? About how long is it and how much does it weigh?

Just my two cents but maybe the 6 to 8 week wait might be killing some sales. Maybe if he pre-made two of each model for next day ship and when one is sold make another to replace it. Since there's no options available there's no reason not to have a couple pre-made ready to ship.
