I have a distance advantage so it’s probably just that. Since Djinn already has it trapped by Canadian customs, it was probably the earliest to finish.

From a makers standpoint.
The reason they arent selling is because anyone who likes Scorpion swords work can go direct to them and have THEIR OWN custom design made to their own choice specs for the exact same price these are being offered. Ive noticed myself if someone places a commission with me they dont really care what the price is as long as its reasonable and theyre getting the sword they want. Yet i can make a sword of my own design to the same level of quality and ill lose my arse on it posting it for sale every time because nobody wants to pay the price when they could pay the same price for one custom of their own design. I get 100-200 less on average for a sword that wasn't a commission vs one that was.
That all being said, These designs all have one thing in common. Overly wide flat piece of steel with very minimalist ground bevels that don't go high enough. My general rule of thumb has been that the primary bevels should be at least 2/3 of the full blade profile unless its a historical piece that was done differently. On double edged swords My rule of them is that both bevels need to either meet to form a central ridge, blend into the fuller, or form a full convex profile if thats the type of sword it is. When i started making blades years ago i also used very shallow steep primary bevels, mainly because it was quicker and easier to do with my poor equipment. When i started doing more complete grinds my sales picked up exponentially in comparison. Back in the day i really looked up to Scorpion Swords as a goal to achieve in my own craft, but it seems like in all the years that have gone by, the products haven't changed/improved. (not that they are inherently bad)

Aye this is true scorpion swords custom service is really hard to beat at the price they offer it at, really almost the same or only slightly pricer then their premade designs

CroccifixioIs it a trick of the camera, or is the blade covered in deep grind marks/scratches/gouges?

CroccifixioIs it a trick of the camera, or is the blade covered in deep grind marks/scratches/gouges? I'm wondering the same. I'm also curious about the thickness of the grip, and the stitching. Strikes me as odd to have them where they are, when I'm accustomed to seeing it on an edge axis...

Thanks to the very generous donations from Randomnobody and Faldarin, plus my sister covering the rest, I was able to get my sword out of customs. It is now in my possession. And on my initial impressions, this sword is quite heavy. A beast of a chopper. The fit and finish is flawless as far as I have been able to detect. No gaps anywhere, and the sword doesn't shake around in its scabbard, though it doesn't hold in either, though at its weight, I am not surprised.
Its not super heavy, but I can already tell this sword out chops anything I own. The edge is shaving sharp, and the central ridge is a bit thicker than the rest of the blade, giving it an almost hollow ground look.
Also, it is a LOT bigger than the pictures made me believe. It is as long, or longer, than my arm!

I wouldn't call the pictures better by any means, as my cell camera isn't that great. But here are some angles that were not previously shown The paracord and ring thing don't come with the sword. I just added them to make a make shift carry system for a baldric. Works pretty good with a guitar strap Also I realize I forgot to add something for scale... In the review I was take photos of myself holding the sword. In my usual get up of course. Which is why I likely won't do it today as I am too lazy to put it all on

I'm proud that you like it. I'm super happy with this sword. And after further handling I will note that while it's a bit heavy it's not overly so. I'm used to one handed swords being like my Spanish 1895 or my diggers arming sword, which are both very light.
I don't have anything to compare it to truthfully. It's a sword that I can tell would cleave a skull in two, with its POB of 4.25" or so, combined with the weight. 4.25" doesn't sound like a lot, but for a sword of this size (28") you can really feel its weight far from the hand. I'm not sure what it is, but a katana has a further POB but it feels closer to the hand. I might need to spend more time with this sword to decide any further
Be fooled not by the ornate design, this is a strong person's sword

Come to think of it, I don't remember if we got a weight on it. I probably missed it, but how good is your scale?

Not too sure but I can try it out. It's kind of a crappy scale but it beats nothing
My weight scale, that's broken and meant for people, says anywhere from 2-4lbs. Seems to change everytime I put the sword on it.
