I’m getting a Japanese shinken that was made in 2008 by Komiya Yasumitsu. I’m also looking at getting another Marshall Damascus and fitting it with Mike’s Warden twisted guard and pommel. I also have a pending order with Point Gallery (Daryl Kyle) for a Highlander Duncan’s Musashi katana using one of my Kaneie Mountain Spider katanas for the blade. I’d like to get one of Kiku Matsuda’s knives, but they’re so hard to come by.

What am I buying in 2018? Probably some beer and a bag of pretzels. That's about all I can afford after Christmas shopping.

The new ronin katana Euro designs. Especially the alexandria sword. Yeah....I think I'm going to go after that one too.

I have a custom cutlass and dagger on order for Summer 2018, with Rob Miller. Exact design still to be determined...
I would very much like to get a good Mainz gladius and an arming sword. Those are at the top of my 'sensible' wish list. I keep looking at Lutel-Handicraft for an arming sword (being in UK it's far more costly for me to buy from the likes of VA or Albion). The softer blades put me off Lutel, but the price is right.
Also I plan on making a Viking shield when time permits.

A rifle and (hopefully) a house, not necessarily in that order. For bladed stuff, I'm gonna wait and see. Antique swords are always on the table, but most others are not. A custom repro may be in the works but only when I've finalized the details on my mortgage. What kind of rifle are you thinking about? Probably a local M4 clone here in the Philippines once the current ban on 5.56 ammo is lifted.

Hopefully one of the following: 1. Soshu Tametsugu Katana 2. Yamato Hosho School Katana 3. Norikatsu Katana 4. Kunikane gen 1-3 Katana
Or nothing at all.

I have an Albion Alexandria on the way, hopefully by early Fall. Plan on buying a Ronin Alexandria once they become available.
Just noticed the fairly new Ronin tantos, and I really like the look of the one with bat koshirae, black on black. Might keep an eye out for that one. Would like to get a Hanwei Tinker Great Sword of War. Should they come up on Deal of the Day, I wouldn't mind getting Windlass' Sword of St. Maurice, Munich, and Avalon.
I'm always on the look out for older Windlass models from the early 2000s, esp. their Cut and Thrust Sword with Rain Guard, Knightly Hand-and-a-Half Sword, Sword of Tralee, Frederick III, and others.
The two Alexandria's are the definite ones, though!

Probably no sword. Very likely something for my shop. For the most part, I'm planning on getting my hunting license (which is a big deal here in Germany, it takes substantial money and effort). Then, consequently, the necessary equipment. Hunting rifle, etc.

Haven’t really thought about it and will depend on a couple of things in motion right now...
But, big sword related things I am looking to do:
1.) finish a katana repolish project of mine and have the blade mounted as a tachi.
2.) potentially a complete overhaul of my Windlass Knightly Hand and a Half Sword (I have a thread on this; I am yet undecided)
3.) hopefully get a couple of currently pending commissions finished up.
4.) Hilting a blade I have for my Zelda project. Maybe someday i’ll finish the darned shield too... 😂
Opportunity and finances will always creep in and such so I cannot say for certain yet what swords I will acquire if any.
I do have my “want list” that I am always looking for:
1.) an Ichimonji tachi (this still is out of my league)
2.) a Sonny/Mike collaboration Sountaka, or a Christian Fletcher Shieldmaiden.
3.) a Christian Fletcher Borderwatch
4.) the SBG/BKS Fantasy leafblade bastard Sword. This was a limited run but am always on the prowl for someone who puts theirs up. (If you have one, I am interested)
Aside from these I am always eyeing Angus Trims, Longships, Odinblades, and FableBlades when they are up for sale... so who knows.

Well, done deal. Money is down on a 'new' Malatesta. I'll have a review after my birthday in a few months when I get it.

Well, the less I practice, the more I seem to think I need yet one more sword. Odd, what?
Buy in 2018? Well, I have a Sinosword order in now that should be done maybe Feb18.
Other than that, nothing since I don't need any more swords (ref. wife). RinC
I do have a pretty sanmai katana with a pretty poor tsuka that I would like a new tsuka for....but no rush on that.

If any - one of either a viking sword, a roman spatha, a roman gladius or finally nailing down all the details and whom to commission for a functional custom semi-fantasy design I've been running through my head for years already (definitely the most expensive option)

Like medieval and Japanese swords, but next year focusing on medieval. Definitely doing: Have monster katana re-polished and change tsuba. Deposit on Albion, Squire Line, Late 13th Century Great Sword from Albion. Deposit on Albion, Squire Line, Late 15th Century Bastard Sword from Albion. If medical bills under control will also: Ronin Katana new euro Alexandria from Sword Buyers Guide (SBG) Store. Hanwei Tinker Great Sword of War from LG Martial Arts. Windlass Conan Atlantean from Museum Replicas Limited (MRL). If I am having a great financial year, I will also: Search for an ATrim XIIa.4 War Sword and or brotherbanzai (Jeffrey Robinson) commission. Note: This "to do" list may spill over into two (2) years. by Crom skip all that and just buy Chris's atlantean from albion lol

That sword is a beauty and the beast in one. I have handled and used a LOT of swords over the years and that sword sits at nearly the top if not THE top of nicest handling swords I have EVER used. And c’mon... a sweet spot over 12” long from just forward of halfway point to like 3-4” from the TIP. That is just NUTS
