I've been dealing with Huawei for almost 10 years I think. If you have reasonable expectations and a lot of patience, you will undoubtedly wind up with a great sword for a very fair price. I personally find their blades to be the best coming out of China in their price point, maybe even the next bracket up as well. same rules apply now that always have when dealing with them: keep your orders as simple as you can, describe them in a way they will understand the easiest, avoid requests that they may have botched in the past or have proven they don't do as well, definitely expect much longer wait times than given and last but most important, expect long drop-offs in communication.
If you're one to panic when they don't respond right away, Huawei customs is probably not a good choice for you. If you can't accept that some details might not be as specified in your order, you may be disappointed. And of course, if you can't handle many months wait, try someone else or just order an off the shelf model as these will ship very quickly.
Some of the nicest customs I've done were built on Huawei swords and I've worked with over a dozen, maybe more. They, along with nearly all Chinese made production swords/ebay swords, will have their flaws. It's just the nature of the beast but in my opinion, their benefits far outweigh their shortcomings. For those looking to customize them, try ordering in shirasaya. They are less expensive and offer a great base for full mounts and customizing.

They are great for what they are, and I compare them favorably to many swords which cost appreciably more. On a side note, it seems that each time I'm ready to send my Hanwei Bushido tsuka your way I figure out some bizarre method to squeeze the ito back into place, most recently strategic use of toothpick shards. Once it passes the point of no return, you'll probably get a good laugh out of what you see.

after 5 months of wait and sparse communication i asked for a refund of the full payment he requested when i placed the order. he responded by saying sorry he won't be able to make the blade any time soon. he suggested i put a claim with paypal to get my money back. i called paypal and they told me the money transfer was not a payment per say, that it doesn't qualify for their protection policy. i messaged jacky; he graciously sent me the money, minus the paypal fee, a day later. the end.
if you're contemplating placing a custom order with huawei/jacky, please be advise to request a paypal money request that indicates what the money is for; specific details needed to qualify as a payment for a product or service. (jacky had just sent me a money request with no details of the agreement.)

I'm not saying one word about it. Not one word. So do i. SO tired of fighting windmills again and again; while other SPECIAL sword sources and/or vendors (i specifically wont say MANUFACTURERS) are held in high esteem und are praised to the heavens by some. I realize by now its forum/board policy, so if i want to stay around here, i might better shut up. OK, i will try. No promises, though.

I also ordered one now. Jacky said to me that it will take about 15 days. Though I think I went pretty simple with my "custom" blade. Just posted one sword which they had in stock and said with 9260 TH and niku. And if possible something else than nami fittings. Well let's see how long it will take

So mine was finished yesterday and is on its way by now. Though I have to say, that I went with "easy" specs, and let a lot of things for them to decide. I didn't even ask for photos, so it could be a surprise to what I will get.

Hey I got a t-10 Shinogi zukuri with a o-kissaki and choji hamon, with a Futatsuji-hi. Check out the pics and tell me what you guys think, I am pretty new to sword collecting so I am not sure on what is a good end result. I plan on getting it remounted one of these days but good quality fittings seem hard to find.

Oh, looks very, very nice. You asked Jacky to make you the stock spring steel, double bo-hi, niku blade in a T10 version? Does this one have niku? Also, pretty saya. Please post the specs! o7

Until you get it remounted, it will still perform admirably (Huawei tsuka construction is much better than most, including Hanwei). Nice choice of geometry, the kissaki looks particularly intimidating. Impressive hamon as well, some very impressive activity. Should be a great piece.

Hey thanks guys for all the great feedback. I just asked jacky for a 1 inch tori sori, futatsuji 28 inch blade choji hamon, and a o-kissaki and that is what i got, I think they did a great job, patience is key though I ordered mine in july and got it december 30. No idea how to quote posts I think I answered everyones questions. I was wondering if any of you knew good places to buy quality fittings?
