Ahhh good ol’ Dayfinder...
Honestly I loved that Powning sword. Except the pommel and the blade tip. Had those two things been different... OMG. 🤤

Anyone know of any other historical and or replica examples of ornate/detailed/engraved type 6 "ish" crossguards, please post them. Thanks.

Here's two that are close Bladerunner Odin's Oar on the right and an Albion Baron with custom fittings by Christian Fletcher on the left. Think Albion's Alpha Omega sword is pretty close too.

Thanks Dave. I checked your collection thread first in my quest, as a pictorial reference library. LOL!
The Oars crossguard is awesome but not detailed....then again, maybe Lundemo could make a detailed version.
You Baron blade with the C Fletcher 6 ish type crossguard, is exactly what I am trying to do!!!! .... only with an Ornate crossguard. Your version is beautiful!
In other news.....C Fletcher replied to email. He confirmed what Storm said. He said he can make the Warden in royal blue or royal purple, so we are not confined to the color choices on his site. However, he said he is unable to take a commission for the custom ornate 6 ish crossguard sword for the foreseeable future due to his backlog.
Going to email Fletcher one more time and ask him if he could sell a new Baron bare blade.
C Fletcher responded mega fast. He does not sell sword parts, only completed swords that he offers.

You have to contact them. As their website generally has limited blanks and such, but I know you can get a bare blade already HT’d. Not sure if fully finished as generally they sell blanks pre or post HT.
But... they probably will sell you a finished but unmounted blade.

And in that case, you've got plenty of choices. You've already listed several, but let me throw another one into the ring. I've seen Lonely Wolf Forge do some really nice fittings - worse you could do is ask if he'd be able to do what you're looking for. I'm not sure how ornate he'd go, but I wouldn't want to speak for him -- he's done some beautiful sets though!

That was mega fast response. Mike of Albion replied. He said they do not sell any blades in production. They sell bare blades only in the bare blade section. Of course there are no Baron blades in that section! So it looks like I would have to buy a complete Baron or Great Sword and have a custom hilt made. What the hail!!!! ....this 9 page thread has come full circle. I started this thread wanting an Albion Great Sword and I may have to get one anyway. Haha!.....eh.

Jeffrey Robinson Crusader Excalibur Circa 2012. "Italian Steel Sword, ca. 1300 - 1350. The Arabic inscription indicates that it was deposited in the arsenal at Alexandria (Egypt) in AD 1368/9." "CRUSADER HAND-AND-A-HALF SWORD GERMANY OR ITALY, MID-14TH CENTURY." "Presumably in the Ottoman arsenal in Istanbul from shortly after 1517." Mega cool comparison.

Nice! The pictures with the white background, and the one from the box really showcase how close Huerta got with the leather colors. Wicked.
