Holy cap do my eyes deceive or is it only $175 buy, these things used to go for almost 300 back when they were avaliable no? Great deal and I so want one if I wasn't broke I managed to get one of these when Sonny made a few more of them for Christmas last year. It was around 300$ on sale with no customization options. If I'd seen this auction in time, I might have bid on it for another, it's really -that- good, and annihilates any other sub-300/400$ medieval on the market.

Word of advice to would-be sellers: eBay's "global shipping program" sounds like a great way to ship items internationally trouble-free; however it has an automatic bidding restriction for ALL international buyers on edged weapons. ie if you list it by GSP, no one from outside your country can bid on it. Frankly you're better-off just listing it as "US only" and shipping via USPS. As a side-note: Canada has no restrictions on the import/ownership of swords. Cn haz swrod auctions ship to Canada plz?

Thanks for the link. How does the grinding near the hilt across the pipeback and crest affect the integrity/value of the sword?

Grinding off the crests is standard protocol for all Argentine arms once they leave service - if you find one with the crest intact the value goes up. However, those are rare.

Thanks for the reply. The grind looks pretty sloppy. I hope it didn't weaken the blade.

The grinding on this example is comparable to others I have seen in person (3 or 4 now). Yes, they were pretty sloppy about it but that was legal protocol once a sword left the armed forces.
The grinding looks sloppy, but does not go deep. Maybe 0.2 - 0.4mm. Would be highly unlikely to affect the safety.

I am really impressed with Castle Keep's swords (from the pictures-never handled one). They seem to have rather rounded points though. Is that a legal restriction in the UK or are the pictures just not showing the point well?

Robin Hood Sword of Sir Godfrey for $220 + Shipping. These swords are OOP but pretty popular, as I understand, so if you've been looking for one then this might be your chance.

This is like one of the top 25 medi smiths in the world. Fabulous swords and gawd awful brilliant leather work. Swords range from 2000-5000+ You can call him up on facebook. Pat Kelly has a worship page for him. There are some really great smith out there, but not too many who can give you the leather to go with the blade.
