bump, here's some posts for things i like; kabutowaris/hachiwaris, the rare armor piercing daggers/swordclubs of japanese traditional weapons a tetto style (iron sword) style kabutowari, with one-piece construction and brass rivets a rare tanto style kabutowari, as it says. it has plain furniture by modern standards, but the most stout and pick like blade. my favorite

Do you have any links with them for sale? This is kind of an ebay listing thread but I have put up some other dealer links.
A discussion of these you mention would go great in the Japanese section.
Any auctions?

Those are legit nihonto for those prices? Some of those are incredibly affordable. I saw a Edo period blade for $1500. Does that seem right to you? Yup. It's legit. Like I said, I've bought swords and parts from them. Besides the Edo and Showa blades, they have had quite a few Muromachi examples (which are what I usually buy), and occasionally earlier koto. They aren't the only place, either. Daimyo is nothing unusual, there's several other smaller and provincial outfits selling nihonto and koshirae on eBay. What isn't well known over here is that the domestic Japanese wholesale prices and pawn values for this sort of thing are dirt cheap (around what we pay for new Chinese DH) in a buyer's market. Japanese collectors will turn their noses up at a lot of blades and fittings that will bring serious money in the West. They want signed "name brands" with spectacular hamon, fresh polish and no flaws. Fine, that means more serviceably cutting tamahagane katana for me, and my home polishing bench.
I just looked at the Kunitsugu you're probably referencing. Nice piece, in full (but unpretentious) koshirae, blade probably mid-Edo, the nakago shows shortening (suriage), the nagasa is only 25.2 inches and the blade has some minor rust. OTOH, the hamon is gobsmacking and the yokote is geometric. I'd consider $1499 a bit high for it, but they dicker a lot. If I was interested (I'm not) I might offer $800 to get the ball rolling, and see what happens. BTW, don't ever bid first on their regular auctions before you've exhausted haggling and dickering by messaging, unless it's on their $10 start auctions.

Pity... SO near, and nevertheless FAR too much money because Norway not being part of the EU - check income taxes and customs fees for 2500 USD! WAAAAHHH!!!

Just got this from Daimyou for $155 (counting EMS shipping) in an auction. Got here in a week. It's currently on the polishing bench, and I'm making koshirae for it.

Legacy Arms Gen 2 Irish Hand and a Half Sword will be posted on EBay at 8:00 pm CST. It was the last one I had when I sold the company. It is still brand new. I opened the paper and examined the sword. www.ebay.com/itm/202848869845I see that it is OOS on most sites and offered at over $400.00 on Amazon. I have also posted for the same time the last each of our Ironwood Bokkens on EBay and lowered the bid price. www.ebay.com/itm/202848880909www.ebay.com/itm/202848885950Happy Christmas Shopping! Hey everyone, I thought I would share some finds I found on ebay in case any of you are interested, since some of them are very interesting. I paraphrased the titles of each listing, and added their links. Be warned though this is ebay, there are many cons on ebay, so buy at your own risk. Happy Holidays Everyone Hanwei Bamboo Mat Katana ($999) (which is interesting since it sold new for $750, but im sure you can talk him down) www.ebay.com/itm/Hanwei-Bamboo-Mat-Katana-Sharp/143470620265?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D4c9ad08a26c74fc49626cb4132a44c1c%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D13%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D233039904715%26itm%3D143470620265%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af523e8fa-1e8b-11ea-be97-74dbd180bf61%7Cparentrq%3A052b0c9316f0a4b77cf9e3bdffb319a6%7Ciid%3A1Japanese Sword Gendai-To Katana "KUNIYUKI" ($1450) www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-Sword-Gendai-To-Katana-KUNIYUKI/174120065830?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D4c9ad08a26c74fc49626cb4132a44c1c%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D15%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D233039904715%26itm%3D174120065830%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af523e8fa-1e8b-11ea-be97-74dbd180bf61%7Cparentrq%3A052b0c9316f0a4b77cf9e3bdffb319a6%7Ciid%3A1HANDMADE KATANA SWORD DAMASCUS FOLDED BLADE ! FINAL BLADE BY BOB ENGNATH!!! ($2100) (BE WARNED ON THIS ONE, all he has for proof of authenticity is a note, no signature, no stamp, nothing but a note written by someone else) I talked to this guy endlessly on this, he was patient but not willing to come down really from his price, because he thinks it is worth it, despite me explaining it too him like literally five times you have to be able to prove it to give those price tags. Not to mention his story is pretty suspicious. www.ebay.com/itm/HANDMADE-KATANA-SWORD-DAMASCUS-FOLDED-BLADE-FINAL-BLADE-BY-BOB-ENGNATH/233039904715?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D4c9ad08a26c74fc49626cb4132a44c1c%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D233039904715%26itm%3D233039904715%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af523e8fa-1e8b-11ea-be97-74dbd180bf61%7Cparentrq%3A052b0c9316f0a4b77cf9e3bdffb319a6%7Ciid%3A1Hanwei Paul Chen Oni Katana ($1099) (A second hand but in perfect shape, and I am sure you can talk him down) www.ebay.com/itm/Hanwei-Paul-Chen-PC6018KLG-Oni-Katana-L6-Bainite-Sword-Rayskin-Handle/254443253792?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D4c9ad08a26c74fc49626cb4132a44c1c%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D233039904715%26itm%3D254443253792%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Af523e8fa-1e8b-11ea-be97-74dbd180bf61%7Cparentrq%3A052b0c9316f0a4b77cf9e3bdffb319a6%7Ciid%3A1Gendaito Katana Shirasaya Japanese Samurai Sword Signed Nihonto ($1400) www.ebay.com/itm/Gendaito-Katana-Shirasaya-Japanese-Samurai-Sword-Signed-Nihonto/324007064162?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144Shinsakuto Katana by Louis Mills (Yasutomo) in Fred Lohmann mounting VERY RARE ($5000) www.ebay.com/itm/Shinsakuto-Katana-by-Louis-Mills-Yasutomo-in-Fred-Lohmann-mounting-VERY-RARE/362691103185?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144Howard Clark 1086 Katana Sword ($4998) www.ebay.com/itm/Howard-Clark-1086-Katana-Sword-See-the-video/323858607866?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144Older 2005 Hanwei Musashi Daito ($450) www.ebay.com/itm/Older-2005-Hanwei-Musashi-Daito-RARE-Used-Samurai-Sword-Katana-T10-Paul-Chen/153747443853?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144Jim Hrisoulas Salamander Armoury 8R leaf blade sword ($995) www.ebay.com/itm/Jim-Hrisoulas-Salamander-Armoury-8R-leaf-blade-sword/223785293920?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144

A dandy DeLeon BA1 This is an earlier on with a tooled scabbard (that, no doubt, added but very nice). Enednio De Leon was an apprentice to Ralph Bone and ground under his name during the Orvis Sporting Goods years and after then after Ralph sold the Bone brand, Enedino was grinding may hundreds from the late 1970s until passing at 68 in 2015. It could be said I am done with buying knives but this one deserves attention. www.ebay.com/itm/293363754909?In another vein, there are a couple of Vince Evans knives tugging at me on the secondary market. buyknives.myshopify.com/collections/vince-evans-evans-custom-knives-keaau-hiCheers GC
