Hello all. I recently acquired a couple of low end katana, and I feel like customizing one. However, I can't find any rectangular shaped tsubas. I've checked KoA, the SBG store, and a couple of other sites, with no luck. Anybody know where to pick these up, or do they simply not exist?

Sadly, those links for artsfeng.com didn't work for me. However, I found them on eBay. Not exactly what I was looking for, but some pretty neat designs. Thanks for the tip! I'm surprised the Musashi ring guard isn't shown on that gallery. Phones are fickle beasts indeed...

You know, I hadn't even thought of that. The double-ring tsuba, I guess, is seen as more an anomaly than a pattern, as such. I suppose, technically, it could be seen as a variation of the "ryo mokko gata" in that graphic; a sukashi variant, perhaps? My phone, especially, is becoming more and more a piece of crap. It was cheap, bought to replace a far more expensive phone I had just lost insurance on, and I can't seem to stop spending money long enough to save for a better replacement so I'm stuck with this thing.

How much you are willing to spend on a tsuba?
The Musashi tsuba is called namako sukashi, the design is sea cucumbers.

The Musashi tsuba is called namako sukashi, the design is sea cucumbers. I think I knew that, once. Long, long ago... As always, then, what Jussi said.

How much you are willing to spend on a tsuba? The Musashi tsuba is called namako sukashi, the design is sea cucumbers. Honestly, I'd probably only look at going to the $40-$50 margin. The Katana itself is only around $120, so a fancy tsuba and a mediocre blade would kinda defeat the purpose... This is more of a "testing the waters" with Katana customization. All my tsuba are round, so I feel like a bit of change could be nice?
