Most will guide you towards the Hanwei. It is somewhat better thought out as far as specifications and more easily customized, if that is ever a route you want to go. The Agincourt may suit better if the visual aesthetic is the concern. I don't know if it might be a little stiffer. The Hanwei lists at a lower cost on a lot of sites but is a bit plainer and the scabbard lacks the suspension add to the Agincourt.
If you have spent the time in research, you have probably seen more in favor of the Hanwei, with little mentioned of the Agincourt. There is little doubt that a first sword will be your last, so go with your own instinct and appeal.
Keep in mind that Clements endorsed the line for his own profit and not as an unbiased third person reviewer. In other words, he was paid to do the commercials. That doesn't make the line junk or wonderful but I personally find most of them a bit ahistorical.

You are correct, most are leaning towards H/T. Im not sure if Agincourt has not had its time to make its rounds, or if people arent just willing to buy it. Thanks for your input. This is the thing, I MAY buy more, but I may not, like I said i wont use them much, not even backyard cutting. Too many people and young ones around. But id like a reliable sword just for "the medieval man" in me. lol That customization option is really appealing, however does the nut come loose often, or have any major disadvantages to peened?

I have the Agincourt, the Bosworth and the HT Longsword as well... i would say youre not gonna be disappointed with either of them. The Windlasses are peened (REAL peens - do you hear me, DSA?) and if you like the blackened finish; well, just fine. The HTs are well known and used throughout the community, and, as stated earlier, are very easy to customize.

Yup, I quite like that blackened finish. I hear its not to hard to look after either.

I, too, am considering the Hanwei Tinker. I have been told that with a dremel, you can make all of the scabbard scraping problems go away. I have had a few Windlass pieces over the years, and I've had fairly good luck with them. Most of them were light in the hand and were great for cutting! yup, someone else mentioned that aswel.

the battlecry windlass line is good, the h/t line is also good, in the end i think its up to the aesthetics, do u like the more traditional satin blade with polished fittings, or do u like the dark black marble coloring of the battlecry line, both are good beginner choices that with a little bit of work would be amazing, i personally like the more traditional look of the h/t line but i can see the appeal of the battlecry line and i've been tempted many times

I rang the store and they dont have the Agincourt in stock!, currently on back order with no idea of when they will receive the sword. All other battlecry swords are available of or on their way. Just not the one I was looking at. So I think, I will go for H/T and if I am still unsatisfied, then perhaps the Agincourt in a few months. I can purchase the H/T for about $230.00, So i think that is not a bad deal. And I guess i could really get the H/T blackened should I require the blackened look. Thank You All for your Input and Kind suggestions.....
