Bren: For your next project may I humbly suggest a schiavona basket, marry it to whatever blade you want, but try a full basket.
I would buy your heron over any jody samson blades, the heron is the pinnacle of your sword making to date, bloody well done old man!

Thanks guys. I soldered the guard on today and that was successful, so I'm stoked. Slak, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Great work brenno!! Beautiful, sexy, wicked but, most importantly to me, it looks to be very very functional. I especially love that guard !!

Probably my favorite so far - cleanest looking blade. I can't find any traces of stray grindmarks or anything of the sort from the photographs(you may just be getting better at photography though... j/k).
What's the distal taper look like?

Photos were taken today with cloud cover. What a blessing. Full sun photos show all these microscopic scratches - Same with flash photos. Cloud cover photos just show a nice even satin finish. But yes, I am getting better at it all.
Distal taper only start where the two bevels meet, so its the same thickness right up to the crest. I didn't want to try to grind down the spine. Distal is easy when a sword is double edged. You just overlap the bevels more and more.
This one is a bit more advernturous on the art side, re the grip. Its unusual but thats what art is about.

Breathtaking. Your finest work so far. You make the guard scrolls in the forge? They display superb conception in design.

Keep improving and I have a few designs I might commission from you. And I will create them as accurately to your drawings as possible, I promise. Though that wide fuller would be a problem for my tools. Breathtaking. Your finest work so far. You make the guard scrolls in the forge? They display superb conception in design. Yeah did you see the photo of the guard blank? It was cut from 70mm wide flatbar, so it did take some imagination.
