So did anyone here buy it? Errm that would be me, placed a bid before I went to bed just to see what would happen got home from work the next day 3 minutes before auction ended and did some quick numbers and placed another bid at 50% of the USD value $775 and won, for us Aussies this works out to be about a 55% discount on a new one with shipping and customs fees included, seller emailed me saying he would ship it Monday. Will update when it arrives, depending on its condition I will use this one as a cutting sword or maybe just trade it off, as I already have a dark blue one.

On a kind of side note, in oz we have to take advantage of these deals as with our $ hovering in the mid 70cents to the USD we, well I, won't be placing any new orders in the foreseeable future.
This is how a $1000usd sale would end up for us in Oz.
Cost $1000usd Postage $100usd Total $1100usd
Conversion Total $1410 GST $141 (10% of total aid value inc shipping) Customs fee $70 Total for us = $1621aud
***GST & customs fees are only for imports valued $1000aud or more.
And for reference Loaf of bread $3 2lt of milk $2 to $4 depending on brand Lt of petrol $1.30 to .35 standard

Well I am glad to hear that you won the auction. And I am looking forward to a follow up when you receive it. I was very interested in it myself as I posted on this thread previously. But with all the hijinks that went on, coupled with the distance of the shipping, as I am in the USA. I decided not to bid. I envy the price you got it for but like I said I'm glad someone here got it. Buy I must say "man what was up with all those hijinks".

Congratulations Dave, glad you won it. Paul, I know what you mean with the exchange rate, makes you think twice about any overseas purchases.

lol I have been following his auctions and placed a few bids out of interest.
I have reported his current listing and a previous few listing to eBay admin, some of the auctions were cancelled and others weren't. If he doesn't like the free auction process he should attempt to sell through the forums or ever try Gumtree and sell for the price he is after.
Dave seems to have purchased with success.
