It's that time, again. I'm not on call this week. Who's having a drink or two?

Found an interesting new brew from a local place, Hardywood's Bourbon Barrel Sidano. It's an imperial stout, brewed with Sidano coffee beans (whatever that means) and aged in bourbon barrels. 10.3% ABV, not bad.

Man, you get to taste ALL the cool stuff. We just have the usual junk. Like Miller/lite, Bud/lite, and Coor's, lite. It's SO not fair...

Where are you, again? I'm just outside of Richmond, VA; here we can buy beer in just about any old store on any street corner, just not from 12-6am. I don't usually go for the local brews, but Hardywood has some nice ones. Branching out into Center of the Universe out of Ashland, too, their Chin Music wasn't bad. Typically I buy British and Belgian, though.

West Frankfort, Illinois. Our local liqueur stores just have the typical beers. Nothing fancy. Then again, when I drink, I don't really care if it's fancey.

Illinois, eh? Dunno the laws out there. I know up in PA, where I have family, you can only buy beer at authorized distributors or bars. Former works out better as you can buy whole cases for pretty cheap, whereas the latter you pay the bar's per-bottle price for a six-pack or whatever. I once spent $214 at a distributor getting three of my favorites in cases of 36, didn't regret it at all.

I just buy Keystone Ice. I like how it tastes and I can get it for $15 for a 30 pack.

Uh oh, "beer before liquor" as they say...
That's a new one to me. I've had two or three by Highland, good stuff generally. I'll have to look around for that one.

After living in Germany 18 years, cannot drink typical American beer. It is just horrible and makes be want to vomit. I end up buying import when back in the States.
Have not tried anything new made since 1992 in the States though. Maybe there are some decent new ones?

Eh, microbrews are getting pretty big in some of the larger cities, particularly in the southern east coast. North Carolina, especially, has some nice options. Georgia's got one or two I like, and Virginia's...well, they're trying. Pennsylvania's pretty much still Yeunglingland, though...
