Anyone else? I had something like a 12 hour shift, today, and it was super-busy non stop carrying around tools the same size I was and just on-the-go the entire shift. Finally mad it home and now I'm downing beer and shots of Jim Beam Kentucky Fire (because it was on sale for $17 for a 1/5 and 2 double shot glasses) like there's not tomorrow. Then the girl I'm seeing is being a raging bag of prego horomones that doesn't seem to understand any kind of logic or reason, (that, and she's a super female kanine) I can't breathe through my nose AT ALL because of sinus problems, and so many other things because it's just been THAT kind of day.... So I'm chasing liquor with beer. Anyone else had that kind of day?

Meditation is your friend :) If that doesn't work for you, put on some hard thumpin' music, load up the bench press with all the weight you can handle, and pelt out a few sets at full force, that will get it out of your system, and a lot cheaper and healthier than booze, and you'll feel waaaay better in the morning! 8-)

Before I started sword training, just good old exercise was my way of burning off steam. I would go out and run. I dislike running and I feel like crap doing it but I feel much better afterwards. I've never been much for a drinker, last adult beverage I had was on christmas day. We used to have a heavy bag hanging at work. It was nice to punch and kick it until you got whatever it was out of your system.

Yeah, I find running great for blowing steam, but exercise is kind of out of the picture when you're all spent to begin with. And yeah, I'll take a drink to relax sometimes. But no more than two or three or so - anything more would just be a waste because I'd be too buzzed to enjoy the buzz. The real trick, of course, is still remembering that after two or three drinks! I'm good at that now, but it did take some practice.

Don't worry guys. I wasn't, like, can't walk/talk gone. I was having a few beers and shots watching some science discussions on Youtube. Exercise doesn't seem to unstress me. When I was having terrible headaches in the Navy, they thought it may have been from stress. So they gave me this specific work out thing to try to help. It just made things worse. I don't know why. After a long day like that andmy mind is running a million miles an hour, I guess I just like to slow it down or "drown it out," so to speak. I get in a much better mood and with my brain all chilled out, I actually get a good night's sleep. (Something I often struggle with) Ive been to doctors and therapists about it, but they just put me on this medicine that makes me feel like I'm having a panic attack all day. So I'll stick to my beer, shots, and my computer chair.

Can't tell if that's sarcasm, or not, but hey. Whatever gets your goat, I guess.

Not for nothing, Mike, but if you can still type with proper spelling and punctuation, you're not drunk.

I'm reminded of a time, years ago, when a buddy of mine was visiting from out of town. He'd gotten so wasted on vodka and other stuffs, that when he decided to check into our IRC channel he couldn't type for beans. It got to the point where I had to get on, too, and he'd say out loud what he wanted to type as he was typing it, and I'd have to translate the resulting gibberish for everybody else.
Good times...

Well... I'm just a really good typer. Typist? I dunno. But I still type pretty darn good when I'm hammered. Honestly, about 15 minutes after I posted that, it all hit me at once. Like... In a matter of seconds. I was thinking "Man, I can't believe I've drank this much and still don't feel a thing." I had gotten up and walked around to get a new drink, find some munchies, or use the bathroom several times. I was perfectly fine and then, out of nowhere, my screen tilted to the right and my face got warm. I was like "whooaaaah. Time to switch to water." Lol

I've never had it hit all at once like that, before. It was sorta neat. Although, I'm sure Neil Degrasse Tyson didn't appreciate it. I bet he had to sit funny in his chair when it tilted on my screen.

That's my not-so-secret cure to hangovers. Drink a $#!t-ton of water for at least an hour before you go to bed. I recycle the glass 40 ounce beer bottles I drink into water jugs. If I drink a lot, I drink at least 2 of those full of water before I go to bed. I wake up well rested and ready for the day. Which is convenient on days like today where I had another busy day at work.
