Really Discovery Channel, really?
I mean I'm kinda happy for Mike that he got own tv show that is focused on swords but at the same time that program says everything I see currently wrong in Discovery, History Channel etc. Instead of making good documentaries they are just making cheap tv entertainment...

Yep I used to actually learn stuff from TLC, Discovery, and History. Now it is more just watch their programing to numb the mind not stimulate it. For folks who want to get a taste of what is to come with out the Discovery Chanel over production check out Mike's youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/michaelcthulhu/videos

If I actually watched TV, I might watch it out of morbid curiosity, but I don't, so I won't. Kudos to Mike for getting a TV show, though.

I'll watch an episode or two just to see... that guy is hilarious I've enjoyed his youtube vids. I do agree with what others have said about Discovery and History channels becoming jokes... but still, I'll watch a bit of this and decide if I want to see any more.

My dad mentioned it to me. Never saw the promo, from what my dad described I thought it'd be about Zweihanders, Claymores, Flameberges and ECT. Didn't realize it was a goofy backyard demolition derby.... Oh well already have it set on the DVR might as well give it a shot. I know my dad will watch it and want to chat about it.

I agree he is an entertaining fellow, and I'm happy for him.
That being said, I think Discover should change their name. Or should have, a long time ago - along with the learning channel and the history channel.

I gave the show a watch, not too bad. Like most "reality" shows it focused more on the drama of the people's interactions and less on the actual creation of the sword. Though Mike is a character which makes the interpersonal drama a bit more interesting.
Over all, not bad but not something to get overly excited to watch.

I watched it. I thought it was pretty funny. I don't know if it will hold my interest for very many shows, but the first one was pretty good.

I watched it and it was pretty good. He's a funny guy and even though he may not meet the fancy of us more historical buffs it was a good show, I'll probably watch the next episode too.

I feel this show will end up like blade brothers. Watched it but will not go out of my way to watch the next show. I think you'll see a couple more shows and then it will end. But by then he may have build up a enough business to keep going. Problem with his blades or any real high end blades is the market is so small. If I was going to drop 2 to 3 grand I would be looking to get something from arms and armor or BKS a more tradition blade. But that's just me.I wish him luck.

I thought it was OK, I didn't feel like I just wasted my time watching it. Mike seems like a good guy, I wish him luck with his business. I liked how supportive his wife was, she reminded me of my wife.

Mike was definitely fun and likable. I agree though this show seems like it will have a short life span. Hopefully it helps Mike's business. While entertaining, I don't see a whole lot of folks making it a regular viewing so imagine the ratings wont be enough to keep it on the air.
I just hope they don't over do the drama of the interactions between Mike and the group he has working for him to try and appeal to more viewers. I know they are going to play it up plenty, and likely edit stuff to be the most dramatic they can. I just hope they don't go overboard and make the group like like complete semprinis.
