At any time did you feel like the grip wanted to twist in your hand because it was too small?
It looks like a lot of fun. Mine just hangs on the wall and smiles at me.

At any time did you feel like the grip wanted to twist in your hand because it was too small? I was afraid it would, so I was paying close attention for that. But I didn't ever detect that is was shifting. The central risers seem to help in that regard. And the way the guard and pommel fit snugly against my hand have to be a benefit in that regard as well.

Nice Steve. Your edge alignment is superb. The Burgundian is one of those "I would sure like to have one" swords. At first I was in love with the Kingmaker. But lately I have decided that the Burgundian is much more unique and attractive. Congratulations on acquiring such a beautiful sword. Psssst... If I had a Burgundian, I'd be sending it to DBK Custom Swords for a really cool period scabbard from about 1400-1450.

Thanks Mike . You and Ric have provided excellent guidance and inspiration to practice! It is a beautiful sword! I have talked with Brian about a scabbard. I have had to put that project on hold temporarily Hopefully that will happen in 09

Mike, could you make a video of you cutting with the Knight sometime, if you still have it? (I apologize for "necroing" this thread.)

It's mike's video, but not mike cutting. The last sword is the albion knight if you wanna just skip to it...or see the whole video to see how things compare.

There's some videos of a fella cutting with the Albion Knight here. It's odd to me to watch James cut with a Euro sword in normal clothes... ;D Cuts a lot like Mike, actually.

I think Mike needs to change his name to "CutterMike".

The knight did as good as the Angus Trim. see that's the thing, when you get to swords of this caliber the differences tend to be smaller and unless one's skills are highly refined one may not see any differece at all. this is why so many of us told you that you'll never miss the mythical 20% between V.A. and an Atrim or Albion. sometimes it comes down to the swords being better suited for the person much more than which sword is really better. some people will cut better with the Albion others will cut better with the Atrim. one sword or the other may have better harmonic balance, center of gravity, and may be sharper, or faster but yet the lesser sword may perform better for certain individuals. so it really does come down to the people to a large degree when things are that close.

I think Mike needs to change his name to "CutterMike". Ah... but you see... if you take a stroll on over to the Firearms section of the forum... you will quickly learn why he is called 'ShooterMike'. While his sword collection is vast and valuable, and he is skilled at cutting with them... it does not Begin to compare to his collection of firearms... with which he is even more adept. Thats why so many of us plan to make for Mikes when the Zombie Apocalypse strikes... plenty of guns, ammo, and sharp stabbers to fend off the zombie hoards. ;D
