Hi A: Took me a week or so to get the pics of the batch of choji blades. Be patient....he is one guy, dealing with all the customers and business details. On my custom blade, he said he would make me the custom blade..then did not hear from him or get email replies for about a month. Then he pops up, while I still had shreds of patience left and said my blade done and sends pics. He will come thru for you. Have faith. btw, you should spent some time here: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=16381RinC

Hi A: FYI, I contacted Tony of Katana1980 and asked about the steel in your sword. Tony replied the following: " Item number 251411196656 Yes it's a T10 monosteel clay tempered I didn't take the blade to the lab for test so I really can't tell you the exact number, but the edge HRC should be around 60, and back of the blade is around 45 I believe. I am pretty sure the blade is functional, it can cut bamboo / tatami mats or water bottles no problem when proper technique is used." So that means your sword is this model: www.ebay.com/itm/251411196656?ru ... 26_rdc%3D1 60/45 HRC hardness sounds right. My Katana1980 mono T10 is harder steel than my W-K2011 1095...am doing a hazuya/jizuya polish on it in my spare time and the K1980 mono T10 is slower going on the polish due to the harder steel. On this forum, if you search, there is discussion of T10 tool steel used in swords. RinC

is it logical to say that a sword can cut through something when you openly admit that you haven't tested it? that's very frustrating. Especially when you see what I'm about to show you: A video that I'm going to send you which demonstrates the remarkable lack of sharpness on the blade. if you think it appropriate, I will share it with the rest of the forum, but if not then I won't. It's kind of silly, because while I was taking the video my youngest child slid a roll of toilet paper across the floor as a joke. They knew exactly what they were doing those little stinkers!

Hi A: Katana1980 has been around over 10 years and has done a lot of T10's. And so has experience. I'd say, now is the time to focus on a solution. Perhaps the video is premature. Let us see if we can solve the problem first. Don't do anything to hurt relations at this time please. RinC

video is completely private. The only one who can see it is you. I would never start a smear campaign. That's why I asked for your evaluation of the material. If you feel it should be public then I'd defer to your experience. So far you've only ever given me great advice. Thanks

Yes indeed I have. Big eye opener, especially regarding the fittings (the forging part I knew a bit about from my previous studies). Good, good information. Thank you!
