As I posted earlier it arrived as expected on friday. And as usual KOA did a great job of packaging, and it arrived safe and sound. It was worth the wait. And I can certainly tell the difference between it and my other swords. Although I'm sure that there are details to it that my inexperience prevents me from feeling. But it is a wonderful sword no doubt. Now as to photos thats were i run into trouble. Trying to post my own photos is giving me problems But here is the KOA pictures. it. www.kultofathena.com/images/AT002.jpg.

There's an absolutely gorgeous pre-owned Atrim with a Christian Fletcher scabbard on KoA now: kultofathena.com/product.asp?ite ... r+Scabbard I figured someone on here might want to take advantage of that. I would absolutely love to buy it, but unfortunately my sword budget is currently reserved for something else

It was there on my last visit and I was able to take a close look at it. I was really tempted, but my Silvia came home with me instead. It is REALLY nice. You can't tell from the picture, but it is peened and looks great.

I believe there are only 3 of those swords in existence and this one would be the nicest looking one of all. One of the others was a T&T mercenary grade and the third I'm not sure of but I think it was Gus' personal word that he eventually sold because someone liked it that much.

Haha, you guys sure aren't making it easy to pass on this sword.
I probably would've gotten it if it didn't come with the scabbard. A CF scabbard like that costs about $500. Without it, the sword would probably be about half of what it is.

that sword is the best handling Xa available outside of a high end custom. I had an Albion Norman and even if it had not had the problems my individual sword had this sword would have been a better sword. as it is this sword blows that Norman so far out of the water it can't remember what wet feels like. yes, I admit I'm biased but only because Gus' swords are so dang good. this particular sword is one of the best feeling single hand sword Gus ever made. it just felt right from the moment I touched it (I had one of the same model but not this one pass through me) like it had been my trusty reliable go-to sword for years. sadly this model just never got the exposure and never caught on.

Would be SO awesome to be able to go into their physical location and check everything out. Jealous.

Yessiree! It is one of my favorite things to do. There have been so many swords that I've planned on purchasing and changed my mind after having the opportunity to handle. And vise verse, there have been some that I would never have considered based on photos, but after handling, ended up pulling the trigger.

Reviews are a good source for information but you also have look at the experience level of the reviewer and determine if it is objective or tainted with a fan boy mentality.
I have bought a few that had good reviews which did not work for me and a very few that did not get good press but I liked them. It is great for some members to be able to go someplace and get a hands-on before they buy.

Just noticed that the Atrim is no longer longer available. Just wondering if someone on here managed to snag it, would love to hear their thoughts on it

I believe you are speaking of MY PRECIOUS! I had been eyeballing it for some time, making sure it was indeed what it appeared to be. The clincher was when I realized it's almost the same dimensions as my Albion I.33 trainer. Just slightly longer. Sure enough, they both fit the scabbard, though the I.33 is just a tad bit tighter. I don't think it's going to hurt the scabbard to tote the waster, so long as I'm not having to force fit it. But this is my first wood core. I'm pretty new to this kind of arming sword, and just getting into I.33 training locally. But it handles extremely well from what I can tell. It feels remarkably light in the hand. I'm planning on cooking up some gel targets to try it out on. It has a few very minor abrasion marks from what appear to be vigorous cutting, but the edge is perfectly intact. Attachments:

Thanks! I put up some pics. The sword pretty much destroyed my Permanent Fund Dividend in advance, but it's worth it. The next purchase will be of a longsword suitable to go with the Leichtenauer. But I'm going to have to do some selling first.
