It's hard to pick between them all, but I always come back to the Thorpe and Courtrai.
If you remember our Falchion debate back when, you understand why I can't choose just one!!
Short and stout for close in work, long and slender for slashing across the fence at unruly neighbors............

I was so close to getting that one Sean from the brokenheart collection. But I kept running out if cash.

I'm currently leaning towards the VA Norwich or the AT Courtrai... at least on looks. I've decided I like the shorter bladed falchions. The short version of the Thorpe is mighty nice looking as well. Unfortunately I don't own any of them If anyone has one they're willing to part with, let me know

Gus makes supreme falchions, I've had several of these pass through my hands and I've had the great pleasure to have put some of my work on them. I love them all for many reasons but with out any doubt the ATrim Thorp.1 (long version) is my very favorite.

I still have that Thorpe Tom, and she has lost none of her charm.
I still think of TriedandTrue every time that I swing it.

I don't like most of the Falchions that are available on the market, as most of them to me are just too straight and when I look at period art they usually have a good bit of flair towards the tip or a slightly curved blade.
Historical pieces I really like the asthetics of the Thorpe Falchion, and you can see how this developed from an extremely stretched out Seax. (Broken back style) There are a few replicas of the Thorpe but almost none of them correctly put in the wider blade near the tip and also have incorrect taper.
The Ollin and Albion Vassal seem pretty good though they are more inspired by the Thorpe than a replica.

Here are a couple of photos of ATrim falchions - probably nobody's favorite, but still interesting to look at. Attachments:

I like the top one (bottom is a bit too short for my tastes). Are both of those yours?

No - I have a bunch of ATrims, but those aren't among them - just photos that I happened to save over the years.
I do really like the looks of the ATrim Thorpe Falchion.

Well, that's off-topic for this thread, but OK. Moderators, feel free to delete this post.
I have 13 ATrims, many of them older models, listed pretty much in the order that I bought them.
TL1506, an early XVIIIb sold by CF A XIIa from when GUs sold stuff through Albion - it later became known as AT1313 DD1601, a type XIX with an Irish ring pommel. DD1411, a type XIV DD1611, an XVIIIb with a simple compound hilt. I have the only one in existence. AT1421, a type XIII MS2104, a fantasy medieval gladius hispaniensis - short leaf blade. A backsword with an Eljay English baskethilt SB1450, a blunt XVIIIb Tactical Cuttoe with slab grip, not paracord. Makers Mark Triple Fullered Type XII - known later as the AT1326 Valiant Templar prototype with ATrim 1415 blade - won in a contest a few years ago. Makers Mark type XVIa

I don't own a falchion, but this one by Peter Johnsson is one I like to drool over quite a bit: And while I have no idea who made it, I've always loved the looks of the one from Wikipedia's page on the falchion:

You're awesome, Tom. I've been looking for the maker on and off for years, but every time I tried, I got swamped in the mass number of times that image has been reposted across the net.
I also realized I put the link in italics, rather than the image I intended. Oops.

Haha, yeah just before I saw your post I had been searching through myarmoury and found that thread! Lovely sword although the blade seems a little too wide when comparing it to oakeshots sketch. Sketch can be found here: www.myarmoury.com/review_mrl_falc.htmlAdditionally here is a link to a fantastic thread on vikingsword.com, which has a wealth of photos of Falchions. vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=15100
