S&w 15-4. the most accurate gun i've ever seen. it's a 38. All of my pistols are more accurate than I am...the most accurate is a older Swiss Police SiG P210 that I have. I dont really do any bulls-eye shooting. I do a lot of IDPA/ USPSA competition, an occasional 3 gun match and a fair amount of tactical training.

those are a solid foundation.
lately, i've been mostly playing with fast gun. shooting from the hip, i had to start at 2 yards n gradually increase. since i open carry on the hip i can now get an accurate shot off in a small fraction of a second. this would take lots longer if i did concealed of course.
i have a big advantage. i shoot in my yard.

I couldn't resist. And no, this is not me. Why? The reason that I can come up with is he's an idiot and raises many questions in my mind.

Best scenario is he just bought it (unloaded) and wanted his hands free while browsing around more without worrying that someone would grab it and take off.

Hard to say for sure from the pic, but it looks to me like a U.S. Army PT uniform and an M9 Beretta. God only knows why he is carrying it on his waist like that? Could be, he lost his holster and improvised a solution for carry until he gets a new one? Who knows? It looks like he has a magazine in it (even more troubling), but it looks to be "on safe" at the very least. I wonder how long he managed to walk around like that before someone chewed him a new bungus. Worse yet, he could be a senior officer or NCO and nobody had the guts to call him on it.
This is probably the uniform he was expected to be in...

That was my thought, it's a dumbass reservist 2nd Lieutenant who forgot his holster for annual drill and was told he better not lose the gun. There's no 9mm ammo within miles of him.

You could pull a Milo of Croton move and carry a cop a mile every day from his academy days to about ten years in. As his belt size goes up, you will become so swole nobody will want to mess with you.

I prefer to shoulder carry, myself. It was more comfortable for me and I was quicker with presentation than any other carry method. To me those are the two most important when deciding carry method. Because if it is uncomfortable, you will not carry as often and eventually possibly quit carrying. Faster presentation because every millisecond counts. My second is hip in or out of the waist band in a cross draw. That was second in my top two carry criteria. Ankle, forget it. I would not have survived and would be better off dying comfortably. Just my two cents.
