It's definitely a gorgeous sword, as well. But that "timeless" sword...that slag iron contrasting with the silver.... It's phenomenal.

Nice looking blade, Random. Reminds me... A tumblr page I follow regularly, Art of Swords, posted a pretty nice shashka the other day: And a closeup of the hilt:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that tumblr page. I've seen some really nice stuff on there before. That's a pretty shashka, too.

Random, my wife is in love with that kilij. Now how about those winning powerball numbers so I can afford to buy it for her.

Oops. Sorry.
Come on man, it's only a bit more than a brand-new SUV. You can swing that for your lady's sake, surely? :x
Kilij area definitely among the sexist swords, and this one is a fantastic example. But wow, is it expensive. Maybe cheaper to find a smith that can use it as inspiration for a piece of their own? :?

Random, have you forgotten who you're talking to or do I need to bring back the combat hippie avatar again? I shall keep looking from afar. :-)

For me, perhaps the Albion Vivamus. Something about that sword just calls to me. Just saying...but I like the Albion Mars sword too...can you see a theme for me?

I saw that, Liam, and I want it. At $275, I can technically even afford it...but there are other things that money needs to go towards. Still, if it's not sold by next week... :?

Well while I might want it, I can't afford it right now as I am taking a cross country road trip in 2 weeks. So I wont be snatching it.

Yeah, by parts it's interesting and even pretty cool, but as a kit it's more the insight into the daily life of Some Guy from a hundred or so years ago, but being as it's not tremendously practical in daily life and isn't exactly an artistic masterpiece...I'm only so compelled to have it. Three are quite a few such sets about, and they vary widely in quality, this being one if the nicer I've seen, but there is so much more I SHOULD be doing with $275 these days, if I had it, than buying an old set of tableware.
