Looks like come sort of cut and thrust side sword. I must have one. Hopefully it's made by MRL again, and this time better not be whippy like Peter's sword. BTW the film opens in 6 months. Spew, to wait.

Sword is pretty. Not sure I'm concerned with the film; never saw the first one. Read the books, and that's enough for me. I wasn't too impressed with MRL's first sword, but this one could be good...if it sees a replica.

Random I can't believe you never saw the first one. The battle scenes alone make it worth watching for me. The story is pretty good too. And the special effects are stunning, in sort of an understated way. I think you'd like it.

yeah the battle scene was good..........even if it was bloodless (PG rating remember?) what i like is when aslan is about to eat the witches head off, she glances at him and a shrek-like fairy music suddenly sounds seconds before he closes his jaws.....if got the dvd look for that part.......however i found gross that edmund had been mortally stabbed and there was no puddle of blood below him, the grass was clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............

Hmm... Maybe I'll have to check it out, after all. Probably what put me off to begin with was the rating. Lions, witches, swords, armies, and battles should never be rated PG. It just won't work.
I'll have a look around at the local rental place next time I'm out and about.

I loved the book and was content to hate the movie without seeing it. But a year rolld by and they play it on tv, I ignore it for a few months, but they kept playing it. So I watched it. And damn it was good.
I'm waiting for this one as well, and then Voyage of the Dawn Treader is going to be made, too. I hope they make The Magicians Nephew, as it was my favorite of the books.

Also a great perve on the Armory. Remember the armoury is designed and made by WETA, the same people that did LOTR. Theres some very nice swords on there. I love how they are almost all hollow ground and fullered. Bugger MRL, but at least they aren't SS!

The Chronicles of Narnia are my favorite books in all the world, and the movies, while they can't do justice to the books(an impossibility), are pretty amazing.
MRL doesn't make swords - Windlass does. MRL basically just commissions them as I understand it.
Other than that I agree - looks way cooler than Peter's Sword.

Windlass owns Master Replicas, so I consider them the same company for all intents and purposes.
I love Narnia too, Adam. In case we hadn't guessed.

Brenno, how was your Peter's sword after you had it heat treated?

Did you see the pitting and scarring it recieved? Caused by some crap they laminate the blade with, or something. I wan't to do a Jute or Hemp wrap to make it look more antiquey. I don't know if I can do much to take the shine off the nickel plating. I have a spare new one in the box too. I've sharpened it up and have to swing it from time to time, you know, for Aslan. It's not taking sets anymore which is great, but it is still whippy for my liking. To be clear it was only taking sets before coz I abused it to the point of bending it - like trying to cut 2 x one and half inch saplings in the same stroke, and more. For a movie sword it is still very functional, and fine for cutting bottles and boxes.

Holy crap....! I did see the pictures of the blade, but I thought it was before polishing it. Damn man, that pitting is pretty bad.
Now you just need to tarnish the hell out of the furniture and re-wrap it, and you've got a pretty good looking antiqued piece.

I though thought the first movie was great! Can't wait for the next one! I just hope we don't get the stupid, whiney, liberal atheists whining about "Christian propaganda" again...

As a whiney, Liberal Atheist, I would like to say that, #1, we don't like being called stupid. #2, I personally liked C.S. Lewis's books. I have absolutely no problems with this movie, because as far as I see it, the movie will be most lacking in any Christian overtones, similar as to how the recent Golden Compass was mostly lacking in any atheist overtones. It's all in how you looks at it. If you want to see controversy, it will be there. Believe me, it will be there.

The only whiney liberal athiest who ever said that C.S. Lewis's books were 'christian propoganda' was the guy who WROTE "The Golden Compass". He wrote it specifically to counter CS Lewis' books, but frankly, if he's trying to teach that there is no god then, he's failed miserably so far. But since the word 'religion' is taboo here, I'll not get into it any more than that for fear of pissing off other members of the board.
Anyway that's one part of the magic of the Narnia books. They're loaded with symbolism, subtext, and so forth, but if you want to read/watch the books/movies without all that, they still make amazing stories.
As an aside... why is it that we have to cater to the athiests and leave religion completely out of the boards when clearly the majority have a belief system of somekind?

I like the magicality of the whole story. Is magic a religion? I do look forward to this sword being produced, as long as UC don't get it.
