Sorry about not letting you know. I received it late last night (I work night shift these days) and this is the first time today I got to a PC. I figured I can send you an email or post here . I'll give a mini-mini-review right now of the Thorpe: Whoa! Wow! Once I get the packing grease cleaned off and some pictures (and maybe a video) I'll post something more substantial.

This is ridiculous. Your myArmoury.com account is ACTIVE and you are not banned. You have been and are free to log in any time you'd like. You can also use the "I forgot my password" function at the login page to reset your password.
Just like many of these other things that you're seeing as giant mountains to climb, this one is merely a tiny little bump in the road. It's an easy thing to get past. You are not a victim of circumstance.
The only action taken against you on myArmoury.com was your removal from the "Industry Professionals" group for your lack of professionalism.

It isn't me being overly dramatic. Ha!
You were entering your password wrong. If it works now, it always has. It's never been changed. Your password is encrypted in the system and I have no access to your password nor does anyone else. If you were having troubles, you could have simply contacted us to help you. No such attempt was made.

Thanks girls. Time to take it outside.
This exchange has nothing to do with anything said in this thread and a bunch to do with the kerfaffle of the past two years. Let it go.

Dave put on a tough act to follow, but I'll say that anything that needs to be expressed can and should be done so in a civil way. I know that this can be a bit of a touchy thread, but if those that are personally affected by it can stay polite then so should everybody else. Thanks.

While I don't have a dog in this game, I just want to extend my sympathies to Tom and the T&TA. I was really excited to see someone follow their passion and its really a shame it turned this way. I truly feel for him and fault him in absolutely no way. IMO he was just put between a rock and a hard place as he isn't the manufacture, but a cutler. Thanks so much Tom for trying to revive the Atrim name and man, don't be a stranger.

I really appreciate all the support but I made plenty of mistakes that made this whole mess possible. I mean I was the guy who talked Gus into making swords at that price point to begin with. Gus tried to tell me it wasnt a good idea but I was confident and he liked my active approach to getting the word out on swords and, well selling them. things might have worked out fine if nothing had gone wrong but things did go wrong as they always do and when they did Gus didn't have enough money to take care of the problems. at first it didn't seem so bad but then it snowballed all of a sudden. then I closed down the orders but it took a while for that to go into place resulting in several more orders. there were even some people who ordered got charged and then our checkout system said "oops I wasn't supposed to let you do that" and it refunded their money before I ever saw it. it also didn't do a good job telling them they had been refunded they pretty much had to see it on their card statement. this lead to me having a handful of people who thought they had ordered swords but hadn't and when they asked me for status I had no idea who they were. this was something that I did not understand about the checkout software I was using so it was for sure my fault, just to throw out an example. meanwhile, Gus had no income because I had stopped taking commissions and he wasnt selling through anyone else at the time. so his income dissapeared. I think we can all see how this would make it hard to get abrasives and other consumable items needed to make swords. Gus knew I was shutting it down and agreed to it but he still had to find a new source of income. this guy lives a Spartan existence to put it gently. he has sacrificed in huge ways so he could be a sword maker and it pains me to see him come under so much fire as he has lately. yup Gus has made mistakes too right along with me but he is by far not alone in carrying the blame here. Gus had many months in there he was struggling to survive. this whole ordeal has been as tough or tougher on him as it has for any of us. Gus has just mailed me another shipment of swords, 3 I think. I am expecting big swords in this one so if you are waiting on a XIIa.4 or something close in size you might be getting good news real soon. my point here is that Gus has always been shipping them out little bits at a time this whole while so please don't think that he has been doing nothing this whole time. I say this because there seems to be the belief that this was the case in some circles. he wasn't always working on tried and true orders but those weren't always the oldest on the list. ok I'm rambling now and I'll stop. thank you for the support, please try to find some for Gus too, he deserves it I promise.

Tom, I think we all appreciate the candor. Seriously, hat is off sir.
I think all of us that have been in the community for a while get it. Everything I ever saw Gus post was pretty up front and clearly showed he really loved this stuff. It does hurt to see the situation. I know I would certainly order another Atrim up if the situation was different.
I think the majority of us would love to see Gus clear the backlog and start banging out new swords. I know I certainly feel like Gus is doing the right thing and fulfilling orders, and between health issues, money issues, and time issues, it is to his credit that he is still honoring those orders. For all the legitimate and deserved criticisms and concerns from folks that have been waiting 2+ years, I think most of us are hopeful that everything gets made right in this, including Gus.
Thanks again sir.

There are many advertisements of Tried and True Armory swords by sword collectors on youtube who often compare them to "higher end swords".
Stop making these videos, because nobody can buy these swords. As a matter of fact, this website should not be advertising any of these swords period.
Stop advertising products that people cannot even buy and that people who did order in the past never received.
Seriously, stop it.

I'm one of the guys who thought he had an order in queue and, after checking with Tom, I was wrong. I was also one of those "gap orders" that got lost in the shuffle of closing down the website but I was still charged (that part is a long story but not Tom's/T&T''s fault; I blame the jackhole who stole my credit card).
When I brought the issue of my missing sword to Tom (again, I thought I had a sword ordered) he responded quickly and tried to help me out... And to be fair, there isn't much he can do for me.
The point is the guy tried.
Some things could have gone much smoother, but he (and Gus) are trying to do the right thing... Sure it's taken longer than anyone wanted, but I give them credit for sticking with it... Seriously, how many people would still work to honor/deliver a purchase made years ago?
I'm going to start a support group for us unlucky gents who thought we ordered a sword to only have it tragically ripped from our grasp...

I don't have a stake in this either but I did invest some time in reading through this entire thread (bit of a train wreck really) and I completely agree with the statement above. I know Tom as a forum member from way back on the old boards and I was happy to see him getting started in this project. While I don't know him personally, I could tell it wasn't to become rich and certainly not to put fellow sword enthusiasts out, it was mostly for the love of swords and to try and deliver a good product. Sword making/selling is a semprini of a business to be in and anyone getting in just to make money has to be insane. Anyway, The guy is still here. I've been around here long enough to see countless others in this game go under for one reason or another and eventually just disappear with the product or the money, or both. Effed up situations happen, I think Tom is doing his best to make things right. Tom, I hope things turn around as quickly as possible for you and everyone involved.

I challenge you sir, to produce a link to a single video advertising Tried and True Atrims that is newer than 2 years old. post the links here please. if you can I will apologize for the misunderstandings and contact the creator of the video and ask that it be amended in such a way as to indicate the issues T&TA is having. just point me to it please, because I can't find a single one. I just performed several searches and found nothing. now as a general announcement, please for the love of sanity do not come in here into this thread and attempt to stir up drama. I have done a wonderful enough job of creating drama in this whole thing all by myself and don't need help. if you have a problem and need help contact me directly at Triedandtruearmory@gmail.com! or by PM here and I will do my best to assist you.

I have mentioned in a few threads but nothing officially that Gus is moving to a new shop. The land lord of his old place has made things extremely difficult for a long time and Gus finally got fed up enough and funded up enough to move. The process is going very slowly as moving all those machines and getting everything sorted and ready to work again is a monumental task and that doesn't even speak to the clean up. I don't know how long it will be until he is making swords and working again. I talk to Gus once every week or two usually. One of the things that really slowed down production was the fact that Gus was not allowed to grind inside at his old place and circumstances combined with Seatle's notorious weather often made it impossible to grind outside. Grinding has been one of Gus's biggest bottlenecks for years because of this. It has never been the only one but always a big one. The new shop landlord has said he will allow grinding inside and Gus even has an outdoor spot to grind when that works out.
On my end of things I have finally put together a shop and started making swords. They aren't good enough to sell yet but they are getting there. Once I am able to bring some money in with my shop I plan to use it to help with refunds as needed. Gus also has a plan that he hopes will bring in some extra cash with which we will be doing refunds. I know this mess has been on going a disgracefully long time but it will end with every sword made and delivered or refunded.

Tom, you might want to post this on myarmoury, there appeared a question about how can you afford to make a workshop and not have enough money for refunds... It would be good if your voice was heard there...
