At this point in time Gus is working hard on swords, just not Tried and True Armory swords. before you all get upset keep reading, the swords he is working on now are swords that he owes companies and business owners that were ordered as far back as the "Pay off the damn machine sale" and other pre-stroke or old post-stroke orders. these are orders that were placed and paid for before T&T ever existed so while you all have been waiting an unreasonably long time for your swords the ones that are being made now have been waiting even longer.
the majority of T&T armory sword orders have been milled and even heat treated. about 25% of our outstanding orders have not yet made it to heat treat and a very small number have not made it through the milling machines yet. this means that once Gus has met his obligations to his older customers he will be able to grind and finish T&T swords. a large number of T&T orders are 90% or so through the grinding and finishing process and just need mounting in hilts to finish.
I would like to thank everyone for having the patience of saints and I ask that you hold on to that because while there is movement, it is still slow.
thank you again, as always, for all the support I have received from the community.
Tom

Hey Tom,
Doesn't "semi-monthly" mean once every two months? That puts you two updates behind. Got an update for the folks?

Indeed, I think its time we get some news at least to keep the communication channel open.

actually (just looked it up to make sure) "semi" being "half" means every half month. "Bi" would be every two months. Not trying to stir the pot, just sayin' (except nowadays we've mistaken 'bi' so many times we incorrectly use it to mean two times.... :? )

I would think a lack of response is an indication there has not been much movement on the backorders since Apr and Gus is engaged with other projects.

I really think it should be Tom keeping his customers informed once a month, as he stated he would do in an earlier form. Speculation does nothing for me. Tom should honour his responsibilities as a vendor, especially after all of the support Tom received from this community. A simple things are still slow would be enough to let people know that Tom's intention is to deliver on his promises. Just my opinion no insult intended.

And this is why I will never place and order with T&T
He or they has a very poor business model and take in too many orders for what they are capable of producing, leaving everyone pissed off and frustrated.

It's been this way with Atrim for almost a decade now. This situation is similar to what happened back when he collaborated with Mr. Fletcher. In fact people were still waiting for swords from the "Pay Off the Machine" sale when he started his relationship with T&T. I don't know why people expected differently to be honest. He is a gifted man who has given a great deal to the sword community, but where is the point where people draw a line in the sand to say, "Enough"?

I REALLY think that we are due for an update.
I havent said a word about this whole thing but I'm one of those waiting, in fact I've been waiting for more than two years now and still no sign of my deposit or my sword.
What disturbs me the most is the fact that despite the fact I have total confidence in Tom and that I'm sure that he does is best being the middle man now stuck between the customer and the manufacturer and situation that will most certainly leave a stain on his record. Sadly because he had a good opporunity to make perhaps one day a living with his hobby and that I sincerly think he was the right man to make it work.
But...
Now its out of control. I'm pissed and many others are. I'm proud to own a sword made By Mr Trim ( I even put it as my avatar ) and would be glad to get another ( I ordered a custom and was so eager to get it ! ) but I'm almost certain that it will never happen and that consequently I will never again buy anything from him.
With all due respect I think that at least an update would be a well deserve sign of respect after all this wait.

There was recently some developments regarding my order with TTA and I wanted you guys to know. In fact Tom contacted me and even if the end result didnt end up being a sword he found me a solution regarding our problem.
There was some delay but it ended up well, I must say that Tom did everything in his power to get this deal trough and I can only thank him for that.
So rest assure that He's working his ass off to get you something, even if it takes time.

AT-TAC-307, if you mean the Chinese made Valiant Armory Zombie Slayer tactical long sword then I can't help you much, but it is certainly possible I do owe you a different sword and some numbers got jumbled. If you would like to send me your information I will tell you anything I can about the transaction. Forgive me for not being able to link up your forum name with your real world (name I owe a sword to) name. I'll help if I can

Add me to the list of the disgruntled. I ordered and paid for, via PayPal, a type XII.2 on 18 July 2011, two years and two months ago. Still waiting. This would have been my third ATrim through Tried and True. I still think Gus makes the most incredible blades for the price, but I will never buy another one from him. He is simply too unreliable. I would rather spend more and be assured I will get what I paid for. I guess that means Albion or C&C from now on.
