I really and truly hope that Gus and Tom can get the kinks worked out of their business model, and that Gus can start producing regularly again. It'd be nothing short of tragic if the sword community loses one of its best producers.

It's great that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. I'm just really hoping T&T can make a comeback in one form or another after all the craziness is done.

Ok guys I am looking to hear from the following people: Chris Avakian Eric Lara Spencer Machino
I have a sword for them in my possession and while they are really nice swords they aren't mine and I want to get them to their rightful homes. I have sent them all emails to the last email addy I have for them. If they don't respond here or by email I will find these swords different homes while securing these people either refunds or bumping them to next in line. Two of these guys are already the second chance for their sword.
EDIT: two down, Spencer Machino to go. Is there someone who can post at myarmoury about this I think he hangs out there and I can't post there anymore
Thanks to all.

Tom- I sent you a reply to your last message... For some reason it has been stuck in my "outbox" for about 12 hours. Ah technology!!!

It will remain in your outbox until Tom reads it, then it will move to your sent box. That is how I understand it to work anyway...

Ahhhh... I thought it was more like Outlook: a message in your outbox hasn't been sent. Glad I was wrong!

Stumbled across this thread while trying to figure out where I could buy a new ATrim.
I am fortunate enough to own a couple (the awesome triple fuller XIII and one of the old versions of the tackat - blackened with slab grip) and was thinking about another one. It's a shame to hear that he's not really producing new swords any more.
I hope it all turns out well. While I paid relatively little for mine (i.e. his old, standard prices), they're easily worth twice what I paid and I'd love the opportunity to pick up a new one.

Your best bet is to watch for one to hit the classifieds, its about the only reliable way to pick one up right now. I have several Atrims, and they all came from the classifieds.

This is why you should not turn a hobby into a business when you have no sense of how a business should run.
This "gus trim" needs to give back the money he took from people years ago that he never even had the courtesy of emailing that they would not be receiving a sword.
People have been waiting 2 and even 3 years "totally unacceptable" for an order that they had to prepay for and have never even heard a word about it.
You know what that is? It's THEFT.

It is an unfortunate situation for sure, but I would appreciate it if those who don't know the full situation and who also do not have a stake in this little mess of ours to kindly butt out. people who's names are on my list are welcome to make whatever racket they feel is needed. I am grateful and humbled by the lack of racket from those people. the situation is not so simple as this guy stole from that guy. we are working towards cleaning the mess up and as embarassing as the wait is, I am dead determined that everyone on my list will have a resolution, preferably in the form of a sword similar to but of better quality than originally paid for. the swords I shipped last week, just for example, are of significantly higher quality than the ones originally paid for. we are doing everything we can to make a bad situation right. if yelling about it would help, I'd have been yelling ages ago

Crecymar, you posted something similar over at myArmoury, right?
I disagree with your statement. Theft implies intent, and, while it's a bad situation, and people lost their money, there is no intent to rob people here. Would a thief, slow as the process is, be working to fill the orders?

semprini happens and plans change that's life. We are a small community compared to say the knife world. So we should stick together and help each other out. Getting over the bumps in the road that life throws at us. Communication helps a ton a specially on the makers end but complaining when you don't have all the facts doesn't help anyone.

Crecymar - I gather you're not familiar with either the personages involved, or the history behind this issue, correct?
Look, I am one of the last people who is going to defend a sword manufacturer who does rip people off. I'll give people every chance under the sun, but once someone has proven they can't be trusted, I'm not in any way a forgiving guy. I've been ripped off myself, and every now and then I hope fondly that Brian Dreier (a somewhat infamous name around here) has suffered every misfortune he deserves.
Gus, however, has built up a significant amount of goodwill in the community over many years, so people are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Especially when, unlike others, he has continued to produce swords to fill his backlog of orders.
Now, was his business model poorly designed in the first place? Yes. Could his communication to customers have been better? Absolutely, and that's one area where I think he did fail quite badly.
However he's trying to make things right - and, as well, those customers who have waited for their swords will be receiving ones which retail for about twice (or more) what they paid for them in the first place, so there's an least some asset appreciation there.

I am one of those that paid and did not receive a sword and at no point did I feel Gus or anyone else involved were stealing from me. Bad things happen to good people and you can be understanding and forgiving or you can be a prick.
I can vouch for this. I received my sword yesterday. Gus is getting swords made and T&T is getting them out. The sword I received is far far above the "mercenary grade" finish I paid for. A mini review is coming once I take some decent pictures.
