And for those preppers out there, a condom and a sock will hold a tremendous amount of water, put a little water in the condom, now place in sock and fill, tie off and carry carefully.
Always buy Aussie condoms, they are larger and stronger, avoid Vatican condoms, they leak.

Also condoms are good to place over the barrel of your gun too. In particular when in wet environs.

If you can't properly use a sword, then don't carry one. It is similar with firearms. If you run into someone more skilled with these weapons, you've already lost. Weapon use in battle requires training and lots of practice. If the sword is in your blood, you will find it with your heart.

I agree. Use the weapon you're most comfortable with. That's why I'd be taking my bastard sword with me. Yes, it's isn't as handy as a machete and I'd probably semprini about it when hiking but as soon as I get into the first fight I'll thank God that I took it with me. I'll gladly handle the extra weight and length if it gets me safely through a confrontation. So if you want to carry a short kukhri, machete or other short sword, that'd better be the bladed weapon you're most comfortable with. Lack of skill or faith with it will get you killed faster than the little additional bulkiness of your preferred weapon that got left behind because it didn't fit into be back pack as well.

Soooo Durex Condoms not the best?

In my experience? I've never broken a Durex, but I've broken Trojans - TWICE. I haven't even used them 200 times! Two different models, bought months apart, both ripped. I switched to Durex and haven't looked back since.
OT, I've got a 24" Tramontina machete with a solid oak two handed grip I added. It would most certainly be coming with me. Not a sword, but my Estwing Carpenters hatchet would probably be my go to melee weapon. The Windlass Raptor will only come out for boss fights

the machete IS THE ONLY sword that will be of any use, an axe would be better though.

Depends what you prefer to use and like the feel of. I love my Japanese blades so i would pick a Ronin Dojo pro Wakizashi. For survival you need a blade that is small enough to use indoors but still decent enough in open ground. A Wakizashi is perfect for this.

Zombie Tools is way better than a machete.....plus a machete isn't a sword, it's a garden tool.

A machete is as much a sword as any longsword and much cheaper than anything ZT makes. most of the people in the world are peasants, so better to learn a sword that can chop Plants Aswell as Animals.

I couldn't disagree more with that statement,a machete is nothing more than a flat steel bar with a low sabre grind.About as far away from a longsword as you can get, though i agree a machete could be arguably more useful in a survival scenario it isn't a sword

I call bullsemprini. A machete can last years against greenery, but little more than five minutes as a combat tool. A machete is practically sharpened sheet metal. Sharpened broomsticks, or a simple rake would make better weapons. Khukuri all the way. Cutting ability of an axe with the versatility of a short sword. Easy to control and heavily reinforced blades make them a no brainer that can be used for anything. Designed as tools and weapons. You can buy a properly built khukuri for about 25-30 quid directly from Nepal, massively cheaper than any novelty ZT or tacti-cool nonsense. I'd sooner buy ten of these and make sure a group is well equipped than buy a cheesy zombie wak' for the same price, with much less versatility. These are spot on: www.khukuriblades.com/products/d ... =3935f45c9

How about something from Windlass Steelcrafts' "Cobra" series, more specifically the falcata or the kopis?
