4/11 Roman Gladius Maintz Pattern $159.00 Alright this is what a lot of you have been waiting for: www.museumreplicas.com/p-233-gla ... ttern.aspx Here is a review on the sword: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8437The review mentions KOA having it for $165. This price is still listed there however, the Deal of the Day price is a little less and then if you take into consideration the additional 10% off using the SBGWEB discount code, your savings are significant.

4/15 Kettle Helmet LARP $69.00 www.museumreplicas.com/p-1057-wa ... elmet.aspx While it's appropriate for protective gear on Tax Day, a plastic helm isn't going to get you out of it.

4/17 Leather and Steel Vambraces $45.00 www.museumreplicas.com/p-46-leat ... races.aspx These are pretty good for the price, I have a pair. Moderate protection at a reasonable price.

I've been often tempted by those... they look cool... how well made are they? Also... can anyone identify the sword he is holding in the pic? That looks very cool.

Sean: I'll have to dig out the bracers, not really sure as to where they are at the moment. The sword in the pic is from the Windlass Raven series. You'll probably remember the Ravenclaw knife. It's a popular fantasy knife, that is still available. Bruce Brookhart has one set available see the page below. The Raven items are in the pic in the top left: www.brookhartdesigns.com/Fantasy_Swords.html

4/18 Dragon Hunters Axe $39.00 www.museumreplicas.com/p-1955-dr ... y-axe.aspx I picked up one of these the last time it was a DOD. The spikes in the base of the haft can jab your hand but you could pull out the ones facing up, cut off the counterweight entirely or simply wear a glove/gauntlet. For what it is, it's worth the discounted price. Don't forget the SBGWEG discount code and Have a Happy Easter !

Wow, good call on those Raven items... yeh, I remember the Raven knife, I didn't know it was part of a set. Never saw the sword or mace. Did you ever handle one of the swords?

Nope, the sword didn't really interest me and when it was available I had a regular mace or two. I do have one of the knives and have taken it to several events.

4/24 Empire Formal Cravat $10.00 www.museumreplicas.com/p-1708-empire-cravat.aspxI know a good many of you have wanted one of these for a long time so I'm reposting MRL's instructions on how to tie one: To tie your cravat - drape the fabric from the front of your neck over the shoulders and back to the front. Cross the long end over the short end, taking the longer end underneath and passing it through the loop. You can do this one or two times depending on the desired look. Then you can fluff the lightweight fabric as much or little as you like. Our cravat does not require a pin to fasten, although one maybe used if desired. Now you have no excuse not to buy one....
