...because two extra clicks to check the MRL site is just too much work somedays I'll post links to the MRL deal of the day offers here for all to know. I figure since I already check every day why not help out fellow forumites and do a little advert'ing for MRL too- everybody win! In the event you want to help and find the deal has changed to next days before I've updated feel free to ! but it'd be cool if you followed the same basic format/style (just looks nicer when things match imo) edit/add: April 27 2012: when a weapon is listed for sale I will modify the OP title to reflect this.********************** link to Deal of the Day for Feb 16 2012King Richard Sword w/ Plaque - $139 or $157 sharp (reg. $265) Don't forget to use the SBG discount code: SBGWEB For an extra 10% off

A fantastic idea! I've been wishing for a thread like this for some time, just never got around to starting it myself... I often wonder what great deals I've missed due to ignorance. +1, man. I'll definitely put this on my list of 'Threads to Check Daily.' Thanks, -Slayer

Nice idea, Chris, and much appreciated!
I wonder, it looks a lot like the Robin Hood movie swords use the same blade... anybody else think so?

Yep, the Robin Hood, Sir Godfrey, and King Richard all look like the same blade to me. The King John is of course fullered different, but is probably still made from the same blank as the other three.

That scabbard will fit a few different swords. I recall someone on MyArmoury saying that it would fit the shorter Albion Type Xs, Type XIs, and the Type XIIs. The Ollin Hart also fits it if I recall correctly. Don't quote me on that, I cannot find the thread. But I do know some people there have bought that rig and used it for their swords from other makers. Definately a good price if it works, the package does not look too bad at all. If I had something that would fit it, I would be all over it.

Hmm. Not all MRL deals are really deals. I can get this same type of shirt right now at Old Navy for $12.00 in my selection of colors. I bought two of them the other day (one grey and one black), that look IDENTICAL to this and are made out of nicer materials with better construction.
I am definately not having alot of love for the authenticity of the medieval hoodie.

This twin-fullered blade would be very interesting for a home improvement project...I would have gotten it to go with fittings I had here but, alas, too late for me as I bought another one months ago...

it looks to me like mrl is trying to get rid of their robin hood stuff.
or either it robin hood week, I wonder if the floor people have to dress up on robin hood week.
they need to do a conan week. bronze brazzires and furry loincloths. that will get people in the store.

I don't follow the deal of the day religiously, but I do recall them doing other themed weeks.
