Have not been impressed with any of the Master craft swords myself... the XIV on the other hand is a solid winner.

Maybe... The level of overall kit is higher then their normal swords... But the swords themselves were not overly impressive. I'd rather pick up one of the swords who's bones were solid... Like the xiv, ulfbeht, gbs, and a few others.

That's true. MRL tends to have alot of iffy blades and then a few very solid one. I had that raptor as my first sword for a while until a broke it when my sweaty hand slipped the grip and it went flying at a wall...dangerous i know.

DA&N! I missed the Falchion...but I did pick up a Raptor. So what makes you all think they are doing a weapon a day?

Bingo... they have been doing weapons all week... and the MRL DotD sales tend to follow themes/patterns... like all pirate, all steampunk, all weapons, all Viking, whatever.

When they mark down the Robin Hood scabbard more, will get another. It fits quite a few different swords I have.

I'm not into armour, but I have to admit this looks pretty nice, especially for the price.

Sometimes I regret finding this site. This accumulating swords thing is like eating potato chips; once you start you can't stop. When I joined last July I had my naval officer's sword, an IJN kaigunto, a CS 1917 saber that picked up because it was cheap but handles like a club, a Windlass English Cutlass that I didn't know too much about but was also cheap and a lot easier to handle than the CS 1917, and the desire to get just one more but get it right this time. Now including the above I have 16. 17 when this longsword shows up. Anyway, screaming deal with the sbgweb discount. $132.70 shipped. The consensus I've read is that Dave Kelly summed it up about this sword (along with the Hanwei Rhinelander) in this review: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5246I thought I'd add this comment thread from: www.myarmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=9737It's by Joseph Fults; it's positive but he also wrote a more formal review for My Armoury. which wasn't negative but wasn't enthusiastic either: www.myarmoury.com/review_ws_15cls.htmlAll in all it seems like people agree it's a decent sword for the money even at full retail.
