I had one of those awhile back and gifted it. The pommel was too small and the guard too bulky. I used expoxy on the grip and pommel and had to shim the pommel as it was a little off center. There was plenty of grip so it could be shortented and the pommel drilled and peened. Display or faire sword but would make a decent project blade.

I've seen this piece. It's not bad looking, but it's strictly decorative. You could use it as part of a fantasy costume, I suppose... for this price it's certainly a decent enough costume piece.

That one is actually tempting, it's a shame Dave Kelly's review was, uh, less than flattering. Still, might be worth the plunge for some at that price!

Windlass blades are generally fine so if one doesn't mind some work it might make a nice proto-spatha... it's a little too long to be a proper gladius, IIRC.
