Not sure i would know what it looks like... got any pics you could send me? Windlass discontinues so many things its hard for me to keep em all straight. If its an old piece tho, odds are they won't have one. When it comes to weapons they mostly just have some surplus, some slightly damaged ones... and what they call 'Frankenswords'. The Frankenswords are swords put together with different blades, guards and pommels and are not found as listed swords. Most of them are pretty sad, really... but sometimes there is an interesting odd looking one.

Ok, gotcha. Have not seen one before, but if I spot it, I'll grab it for ya.

The Dutch Cutlass was one of the ?make this again" swords of 2007. It makes sense for them to make small batches instead of making a gazillion. I am sure they were conservative about that last batch for a reason. I am sure they would run a batch of there was some serious interest. It is a pretty sword/ Loyalist Arms did or still does a version. Nothing like finding one in a closeout bin though. MRL must have some blems and returns but they may have a barrel of stuff out all the time.

Did anyone else make it to the clearance sale today? I got there really late (around 1PM) so I probably missed out on some of the better stuff, but I still made off with a pair of 1-handers for $85. Almost bought one of those tri-crossguard claymores that was also in the clearance (it was only $100, and it is a pretty sweet, if amusing-looking, sword), but its scabbard didn't fit, so no dice for me.

I was there when they opened... it was like a feeding frenzy, a good 75 people in line before me and I showed up 10 min early. Watching them blow threw that place was like shopping on Black Friday.... which I never do cuz i hate crowds. There has been less and less good stuff each past year at the sale... and this one was the same.

Don't suppose any one who was there checked out this Airship Captain's Katana?
I kinda like it (don't throw things at me), but don't want to bother even as the Deal of the Weekend, if it's total crap.

I got there around 9 something AM... I agree, there wasn't much to look at. However, they were selling Cold Steel scimitars and, I think, the CS 1830 Napoleonic saber, for $95... hell of a markdown. Perfectly functional too from what I could tell, they were all in the shipping bags. Probably unsharpened-- didn't check that-- but it would've been a great deal if I had the scratch for it.
Very nice to see the store and everything, though... particularly taken with the box of antique khukuri's... I bought a 'fantasy' bare dagger blank, planning to make a knife from that for my father-in-law's birthday. That's in about a week, so I gotta move on that...

I was there at 9am... as was Odingaard. Too bad we missed you. I didn't leave till after 10am. I saw the Cold Steel Sabers and Shamshir. I have the Cold Steel Shamshir... I paid almost double for it... so that was a good deal. Didn't see if it was sharp or not... but I know the sabers were not, I checked em.

I've resisted buying the sword in that box so far, but if it's still there later on this summer, I might pick it up.
