Small but excellent collection... you have very good taste. I've owned many of those blades (and two of em specifically) and the ones I have not had, I want. You have GREAT taste.

Good to see the "family" on display. Applaud the "ten swords was good enuff for my pappy, so they be gooder enuff for meuns" speech. The bluff of the young mendicant. May your future endeavors grow, and your swords multiply with your bank account, glasshopper....
The cacaphony of scabbards in the first photo sort of made me gasp.
The waiting for strider II is getting on my nerves. You must have developed a right eye twitch by now.
Kudos for the neat toys.

Thanks, folks! Sean's indeed responsible for the presence of the two Atrims with dandified wheel pommels. Many thanks, brother. I wouldn't have some of these if it weren't for your own good taste in the first place. Hahaha, Master Kelly's well aware that as much as anything I was aiming to convince myself that the inevitable sword hiatus will be just fine when I join the ranks of unemployed college grads in a few months time. Oof. As for the scabbards, I had removed 'em and placed them out of frame and then thought, 'What the hey, that looks kinda interesting. I'll take a step back.' You have no idea. Luckily no right eye twitch has surfaced. It's the left one. Next on the wishlist is to upgrade the kat and swap out the side sword for something from A&A, but it's a long road before then. I feel like I need some hollow-ground beauties in my life, too, but it'll be quite a while before I see myself back north of 20 pieces again. The nicer ones just take so much longer to hoard.

That Venetian Bastard really suits my taste! Ah, Atrims.. they are like peanuts! Also, I am not a fan of fantasy swords but your custom Crecywatch is turning out a beauty.. I had a Crecy a while back, and seeing it brings some good memories back!..It is probably the best Albion in term of handling/feel

You got that right. The unadulterated Albion Crecy has to be pure poetry in hand. I own a Crecywatch and it is sleek deadly beauty, with a LOTR flair that tickles me just right. I like the smoother flowing furniture versus the more severe straight cross and wheel pommel. Granted, it is my only Albion, but if they make anything to top it for what it is, I've yet to hear of it.
Luna, that Courtrai is giving me fits man, fits I tell ya. You get my vote for owning the baddest Falchion I've seen to date.

Yeh... miss that one alot. As to the Albions... I've not had a Crecy yet... but the Munich, Regent, Squire, Knight, Knud, Burgundian, and Baron I have owned all impressed the heck out of me. The Baron the least of the bunch... only due to a short and thin grip for such a meaty blade. I want a Crecy watch of my own someday...

I agree with Chuck ,the Crecywatch (Borderwatch) is one of my favourite swords in my collection and its simply one of the best handling swords out there ,definitely an Orc slayer of note  . Im sure you are going to love your Borderwatch Luna .

That he will, it'll fill the hole in his heart that selling his last one left.
Superb collection, Zach. I've gotta second Sean here, you've got great taste. I think it's about time you fancied-up that 1557 to match your VB, no?

Very nice collection Zach. Many pieces there that I am most jealous of!
Does anyone know, with the different furniture, is there a difference in handling between the Crecy and the Borderwatch? I really gotta get me a Borderwatch.

I haven't handled the unadulterated Albion version Chris, but going from Chad Arnows impressions of the straight from the maker piece here- Crecy review from MyArmoury his insights as to handling could have been written about the Crecy based Borderwatch from Christian Fletcher. Christian seems to have kept the POB the same as the original with his rework, and it works like magic man. I know that it's not quite the same, but that hole was filled with $100 dollar bills ya know.

Holy wow, I missed a lot of replies. Thanks guys! Thanks, chuck! The Courtrai is indeed a mean beast, but it's easy to swing all day long. I don't know how Gus manages his witchcraft. That's probably the first one I'd reach for if/when apocalyptic SHTF. With regards to the quality of Albion's blades (kittenslayer and Sean's comments) I've been very impressed with each Albion I've handled: the Squire, Knightly, Yeoman, Crecy, and *almost* the Cluny (didn't take it out of the box, but examined closely). Their fit and finish and historical accuracy are really second to none. The Crecy, though, is the one that's dearest to me. I'll echo Chuck's statements concerning his sword--it's just magnificent in hand. Since the Center of Gravity on the Borderwatch seems unchanged from the stock sword, it's unlikely that the handling is noticeably different from the non-fantasy version. That I will. I'll be back to join you and Chuck in the ranger club soon enough. Hahahahaha, very true. It softened the blow for a time. Not a bad idea. I gave the pommel a nice facelift a few months ago, but it could stand to have a new grip. I like the guard variation, but it'd be nice to add something to it, maybe like the etchings on Tom's Vine 1557. Not sure if the guard is stainless, though.

I want to add, if anybody was wondering about the delays of the Borderwatch, that Christian Fletcher has been lovely to work with. There was an issue with the foundry at Albion that backlogged production of the blade and pushed the project back a few months, but everything concerning Christian's speed of work, communication, and updates has been spectacular.
For instance, that last progress photo on the first page was from less than a week ago, and TODAY Christian sent me a quick snapshot of the sword fully finished. It should be shipping out soon.

Second that. Only work I had done by CF was the Austrian War Sword and he was very communicative once production began. Fortunately the blade was in hand and things went pretty fast. Similar experience with Vlad Cervenka, but I had to make a booking six months in advance. I heard nothing until a couple of weeks before the proposed commencement date when I sent him an email that I was still alive and looking forward to his work. From then until he shipped he'd send me a chatty email and pics every few days. Working with custom swordmakers is a very addictive experience. I haven't had a bad experience with anyone...
