That's a good looking hilt, at least. No way to know if it's a good piece yet, but I do like that hilt.
A new Tinker, perhaps? One can hope.

If that's a Tinker, it will be mine. Maybe even if it's not Tinker.

Wow I really like it I might have to get one to if it is indeed a new blade.

I think Tinker has dropped a hint that there might be a new Hanwei Tinker sword or two coming in the near future, but I can't remember where I saw that or what he said exactly. maybe it was in a dream.

You know, if they made the whole line sharp right out the box, I'd snap up the whole line right away. (Hopes Paul Chen reads this)

Nice dream . I really, -really- like this at first glance. I love the side-ring on the guard, and the elegance of the whole hilt. Curse my lack of cash

I was thinking of getting the Tinker Pearce Practical Longsword once I can afford it, but if this one is going to be available in a "practical" (blunt) version, I think I'll wait. Love the style of it, from what I can see.

Yeah, I can't really get my hopes up with Hanwei Euros anymore. I know I can fix a secondary bevel, but it's a pain in the ass. I like the scent stopper'esque pommel, but only if it's peened or hex nut assembled. But frankly, I've bought two swords in the past 2 weeks, so my craving is satiated.

Well I haven't purchased anything yet this year and shadowhowler's recommendation of a HT long sword is my breaking this sword buying fast. Unless some one has some other thoughts. "Saving money for a rainy day", will not be entertained.

Guys, if you want this thing in a Practical / Sparring version go here and voice your opinion! www.cashanwei.com/contact.aspxNot a Tinker, he doesn't do a lot (any?) complex hilts. (not to say that he wouldn't, just don't see it in his custom work online) 5160, peened, working on dull edges (across all euro swords), I think that's it...

that looks pretty good Bpogue, you got any more info on it such as what sort of distal tapering it will have, over all weight, POB, and price?

Hey guys,
Blade Type: I'd call it a XVIIIa. Distal Taper / PoB: The prototypes are all packed up for Shot Show. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a linear taper, but can't say for sure. Doesn't look like the PoB was recorded on the prototype, I'll get it when we're at Shot in a few weeks.
Here are the other specs: Overall: 45 1/4" Blade Length: 35 3/4" Handle Length: 6 3/4" Weight: 3 lb 4 oz Blade Steel: 5160 Hrc Edge: 54 HRc
Price is the best part, MSRP: $279
Cheers, Blake

MSRP 279$ Ooooh... that is indeed really cool. Now we just have to wait to see a shot of the entire blade
