I for one am still very partial to the Albion Munich. There is just something about that Oakshotte Type XVIIIb that says "elegant and lethal" to me.
Oh and as far as "Swiss Sabers" are concerned there is a custom one that A&A made for Nathan Robinson of MyArmoury that is absolutely gorgeous as well.swor_aa_swisssaber_a_s.jpg[/attachment]

So, yeah, I'll probably have to go with this bad boy from Jake Powning: There were a few runners up - the Castle Keep suontaka sword, for example - but really, I'm not sure I know of anything that genuinely beats Vardhllokur.

The best looking sword in the world is the one I designed that DSA is making.
Besides that, I could go on all day posting gorgeous swords. All the ones so far in this thread are beautiful.

Heh... THAT sword popped into my top 5 in my head the moment I read the first post of this thread... I have to do some thinking, but that one is in the running for me as well.

I can appreciate beautiful embellishments and engravings and carving and the like, but what I really find gorgeous is when the shape and form of the surface of the piece alone are enough to make you weak in the knees. Keeping in that vein, my current "best looking sword" is Bill Grandy's faceted Loop Hilt smallsword, with an original blade from the eighteenth century and a hilt by Erik Stevenson of Phoenix Metal Creations: www.myarmoury.com/bill_swor_pmc_loop.htmlIt's only an expanse of plain steel, but the way it's been sculpted just floors me.

I'm fairly partial to to everything from Mad Dwarf Workshop, but this one is my favorite I think. I suppose it's technically a langseax, but whatever.

What magnificant swords y'all have posted. I can't make up my mind which one I think is the most beautiful. When I think of a sword's beauty, I also think of its use, how it would suit me, work and handle, etc. Well, I love my new MRL Shamshir or scimitar, how it handls, looks, feels, etc. So I think I will post apic of it: Attachments:

Anders, by the gods that is one fine piece of workmanship. You can see the maker put his love and time into that, all his love of his craft is evident. I love the looks of Viking swords, but just feel uncomfortable in my hands. I prefer curved weapons!
